The Mail Bag

Official website

You really do have to wonder about our official club website. I've just logged on and have seen what passes for their official tribute to Bellefield. Bill's response to recent speculation about a possible takeover is also a wonder. A handful of blokes in their spare time can organise this website to a high standard, providing high grade information and scope for discussion, all may I add free of charge. The club gives us this junk from IT guys, probably on huge money, and then expects us to pay subscription fees for any decent info.

I know I should know better at this stage but don't you just love being patronised?

Kieran, I fully agree with your views on the OS. After paying subscription fees I expect to get honest news from the horses mouth so to speak. In actual fact 90 % of what I get is childish propaganda that would make Goebels roll his eyes.
Are the players and coaching staff as blind or stupid as their three monkeys mantra make them out to be.

They should stop kissing each others backside and for once tell it as it is.

"Telll it as it is"

Tell what as what is ? What’s going on that you know about that the rest of us don’t ?

If you don’t like it, don’t bother reading it. Simple as that. Every official club website is the same. Every single one. The offical programmes, club magazines etc, all the same. All promoting positive messages and all glossy and sanitized.

What kind of professional organisation doesn’t do that ?

What is it that you want to read anyway ? "So and so has been shite and we all hate him" , "we’re all rubbish, don’t bother to come and watch" ??

Some of you need to stop your incessant whingeing about any and every little thing to do with EFC and get yourselves a life.

Either that, or just give it up altogether and find something else to grumble about.

I think I’m right in saying the Everton OS won the award for the best Premier League website not too long ago and looking at the others, it is not hard to see why. I personally think our website is excellent and I cannot believe how much stick some of the people on here give every service the Club offers. Is anything the Club does ever going to be good enough for you people? .

’I think I?m right in saying the Everton OS won the award for the best Premier League website not too long ago’

Indeed it did win that award, and a few others 2 years ago. Yet, they completely redesigned the website just over a year ago - making unnessary changes to a great site.

Today, it isn’t bad - certainly better than most other football clubs’, but it isn’t nearly as good as it was.

Ultimately though, It is full of blatent propaganda manufactured by an embarasingly inept PR department. I tend stick to toffeeweb for the news - the negative realism on here is infinitly preferable to the self-satisfied hysteria that regularly comes from the official site.

Hi, Dave Trudgeon (BTW, please use your full name)

I?ve been reading a few of your comments on ToffeeWeb, and I guess this one finally pushed me over the edge:

>> "alex i?d disagree that this site is "realistic"

if i was to take for granted everything said on this site then i should be clamouring for moyes to be sacked and we need walter smith back" <<

I shouldn?t need to point out the obvious inaccuracies in that statement but what you claim is promulgated only by a small number of fans who post on this site --- it is not an opinion advanced or sustained by the site itself.

I?ll be looking for you to post your correction on this thread.

Thanks, Dave
