Faddy's stats

This season in all competitions he's had 9 starts, 4 games as a sub and 7 goals. It's looking like our best combination may be Faddy and Vaughan (total cost £1.75M). Shame we spent £20M on two players who might have to warm the bench!

Faddy is class it is the team tactics that do not suit his style of play

Have to agree we are desparate for a couple of wingers and a midfield general. Hopefully Moyes will look to resolve this in January, if not we should be looking in the reserves for playes. JP KIssock and Bjany Vidarsson look good candidates.

Mcfadden deserves a starting place in the team. Need to get all our injured players back and the style and the tactics will get better. When all fit team should be howard, jags, lescott, yobo, baines, artetta, graveson, cahill, pienaar, mcfadden and vaughn. subs wessels, neville, osman, carsley and johnson

Michael, do team tactics make him lose the ball all the time? No they dont because every player has there own legs and brain. Faddy for me still has alot to prove. I am happy that he is scoring goals but would also like to see more of an all round perfromance like he did against Boro. If he gets some consistency and improves his decision making he will be a success if he doesnt then theres no point in having him.
Ed, I think its a shame that you have written off Yakubu and Johnson already. Johnson wasnt scoring goals but he was genarally in my opinion playing well and I think he will score when he comes back from injury. I still think Yak needs time. Its a new team, a completely different style of play so we must be patient. Yes we did pay 11.25 million but not everything clicks at the snap of fingers so give the lad time.
Mick, I aree we need some wingers and a midfield genaral but there is niothing in the reserves at this current time. Kissock is a central attacking midfielder and whilst he is very skillful, technical player he is far too lightweight fort he reserves never mind the premiership. Give him a few more years and he’ll be a good player but its to early. Vidarsson im not convinced about yet. He’s tall, scores a few goals but again he is lightweight and doesnt get stuck in. He needs to be loaned out or moved on in my opinion.
I think we should start Yakubu and Vaughan in the derby and leave Faddy on the bench. I know he’s been scoring goals but this is more of Vaughan and Yakubu’s game. Both are strong and quick and both would complement each other. Vaughan can play the target man role and that is exactly what Yak needs. People seem to think because of his build he is a target man but really the target man was Viduka and he played off him. So its Yak and Vaughany for me. We need to exploit Hyppias and Carraghers lack of pace and with these two that is possible.

Conner that may be an intersting comination but is Vaughny back yet. He may be training but I dont see him, being match fit. You didnt mention Victor eithr. That may be an intersting combination. BUt I disagree with your lightwieght opinion on Kissock. I think he is a sturdy lad andf he gets stuck in when I have seen him in the reseves. I met him at Aitree last year and I thought he looked a reaonable size for his age

How many goals has McFadden scored for Everton ? I believe that Lescott is our current top scorer. You know Lescott the defender !
"Faddy is class". I don’t think so.

Yakubu is an overwieght disgrace for a pro footballer.Moyes should hold his head in shame for being panicked into the signing by the chairman when Vaughan got injured.Everyone knows his judgement on big-time players is flawed-he should stick to signing players from his own level-the Championship!

John Andrews you are the exact sort of fan that keeps Faddy’s head down.
If you got behind the lad you’d see a lot better reaction out of him, hence his confidence when playing for his country

Connor - Dont think Vaughan is going to be ready for the Derby but Cahill could be back which could see us revert to 4-5-1 with Cahill playing off Yakubu. Its a formation that worked well for us in the past

I don’t remember us ever playing with Cahill just off Yakubu. As far as I recall they’ve never played together!

Its quite a difficult one this. On form you would have to go with Faddy and Big Vic. Both are playing well, Faddy for the Scots and Vic when he has come on for us in games. However, you also have to consider Yakubus situation. Not much of a pre season at Boro and he is clearly not match sharp, but the only way to get that is to play, and to play for 90 minutes. In that case, I would start with Yak and Faddy, and bring on Victor later if needed. However, I do feel that Yak and Vic could be a good partnership too.
