Nigeria vs Mexico

Nigeria played Mexico today, and not one of the three Nigerians at Everton (Yakubu, Anichebe, Yobo) was in the squad... and Yobo's usually captain! What happened here? Anyone know? I'm not complaining I'm just curious.

I think in this day and age googling the internet is the best way to find that out.
They probably didnt call on European based players because their clubs probably wouldnt let them play in a meaningless friendly. Surely Moyes would of blocked them going with the Derby coming up.

Club managers can’t "block" players from linking up with their respective national teams on an official FIFA matchday. He can only ask politely. (Or not so politely as is the case with some managers.)

You tell Fergie that Peter haha.
He pulled Giggs out of more Welsh friendlies than you have had hot dinners.

Its simple. Moyes isn’t the type of Manager to object players going on international duty, with Yobo not missing an international game for 2 years in a row. Yakubu is not in form, Yobo is injured and Anichebe just hasn’t found favor with the Nigerian coach.
