Great effort but...

Firstly, that was a great effort. Not one player in blue can be faulted for their affort or attitude.
Secondly, yes the referee was guilty of several dire decisions. Kuyt should be banned retrospectively by the FA (bet he isn't). Gerrard 's 'talk' to the ref to get Hibbo sent off was reprehensible.
However, let's be honest. We were poor. We made few chances and never really looked like capitalising on our lucky goal start. Yakubu is not able to do what Moyes wants him to. He is not a whippet like Marcus Bent was or like Johnson is changing into. He needs to be played in. Take Arteta out of the equation and we have nobody who can do this.
Tactically we were inept yet again. I cannot understand why Moyes put two remarkably similar players up front. Liverpool had a defence that would have struggeld against pace. Victor and the Yak are devoid of this asset.
Why is Tony Hibbert still allowed to be one of our defenders? What was the point of signing Baines? I believe that Moyes's loyalty is admirable but it impairs his judgement.
One last point ? the season for me already looks bleak because that is the fifth side we have played in the top ten and we have now lost five. This does little to support our chances of another European season (unless we win it or a cup and that is unlikely). It seems like after a good season we are going to have the customary bounce down the table.

We let them bastards win today, they never looked like scoring until they got the penalty. Hibbert runs his bollocks of every week and he is a blue - I will forgive him a great deal for those two things alone. He is however a championship player......we will never become top 6 let alone top 4 whilst we entertain players of his quality at GP. He must be brilliant during the week at Bellefield because Moyes will not drop him. Neville should be playing at right back - Carsley in midfield and push Arteta into the middle until Graveson’s fit. Try AvdM, Pienaar etc out on the right wing.
There is no fucking quality and no service to the forwards at the moment.
There is another submission on TW which says we have played 5 of the top 10 teams in the Prem this season and lost them all - nuff said.

As for him being defensive - well that is because the vast majority of the time he is. He has not got a clue and neither have you.
Tony Williams - I challenge you to point out one area where Moyes got it tactically right today. Better still I challenge you to point out one game where he has got it right. He is taking us nowhere...two steps forward and three steps back.
Regarding Clattenburg being corrupt - grow up. He made sevral glaring errors but the penalties for the dark sidce weere definite penalties. The two he didn’t give us were also definite penalties. As for Kuyt - yes he maliicious and really should have gone for intent.
Inept - definitely; corrupt, don’t be silly.

Again the tactic were correct, he changed the formation after about 10-15 mins stiffling Marischino and Sissokololo, who I didn’t event realise was playing.
We were undone by a clever piece of sportsmanship by Gerrard and when we went to 10 men the game should have been over, however we wstill went looking for a goal, fruitlessly.
The last second pen was a shithouse call by the ref who simply bottled it.
We deserved at least a draw, not bad when playing a supposedly title chasing team.
Russ, just as typical as a poster defending Moyes, there is also the pessimist just waiting to slate him when we lose.
I am not fully convinced with Moyes but he is now a victim of his own success so early on and I am fed up with the same pointless threads calling for his head, as he can’t "take us to the next level" FFS he already has took us up a level but apparently we should be palying free flowing football and should be banging in 5 a game. Where is that "doh" smilie when you need it?

Usually posters like you start saying how defensive Moyes is, yet after we losyt a man he kept two up front going for the winn, and we were robbed of a point by the corrupt ref not giving us a stonewall pen.
Lay off Hbbert, he did nothing wrong today that caused a gaol, I blame neville for the first goal because he should have put Vorinan into the fooking stands instead of backing off.
Thye season looks bleak for you because you are a pesimist, nothing else.
