Sitting about four rows behind me were three kopites. When Liverpool scored their first goal, the three of them stood up jumping around and cheering as if they were sitting in the Kop. How the three of them didn't get done in I don't know as near enough the whole section stood up hurling abuse and threats. One of the stewards also had to step in to cool people down and tell the kopites to keep quiet.
Now I know that it was always going to happen, Livepool fans sitting in our ends, but when Liverpool fans walk up to the turnstyles in their Liverpool tops, why are they being allowed in? I couldn't see any other team letting their feirce rivals fans sitting in with their fans, do you?

Er... isn't that why it's called (wait for it...) The "Friendly" derby? Blues and Reds sitting together in peace and harmony... Or am I a bit behind the times???

Sitting in the Upper Gwladys, the saddest sight for me (besides the cheating Red Scum celebrating a win by their 12 men to our 9) was seeing RS fans being escorted out for celebrating their goals. It’s just football FFS. We used to go to the derby together. What is this sickness that means we no longer can?

Its the minority thaty spoil it for the rest us. I had a red sat next to me and why shouldn’t we mix and share the joy and pain of a derby. He showed respect for our club. He acknowledge how lucky they were to get a result. When they scored .. yeah .. he celebrated but not to the extent to draw a massive amount of attention to himself..... and why shouldn’t he... I would have done the same on the Kop.
What pains me is that Everton can’t fill the ground with Everton supporters. Which makes me think
1. Are the RS fans more determined to get tickets to see them play?
2. The methods of sale to true Evertonians are poor and they go on general sale ? Lets face it Wyness and crew just want to sell them,.... don’t care who to
3. We don’t have the massive support we think we do ?? Maybe a core of 35-38000 who are season ticket holders, members or fans that come to the odd game.
I don’t have problem with red infiltration.. the desire is obviously greater than the desire that some of us blues have... I’d rather have a stand packed with blue and it harder for them reds to get hold of the tickets... but somehow that will NEVER. happen !
As for the game...... 1 of those days when the ref was in red again. Getting kind of used to it !

John, it’s got nothing to do with level of support. There will be just as many Everton supporters in the midst of the Liverpool fans at the Anfield Derby. I don’t know how this happens but it always does.

Its not so much that the phrase friendly derby has deteriorated because of the football teams but really its a social thing where the youth and may it be said some of the old simply cannot tolerate people and they are what you call the minority at the football match yes but sadly on the street they are fast becoming the majority obviously resulting in the gun/gang culture.. As a young guy myself living around those type of people I tend to be careful who I stare at because you know what happens.. Sadly alot of that type of attitude has spilled over into the derby matches and I dont think it will ever be like it used to be simply because of what I have said. Social problem. One of the dissapointing factors yesterday also was I actually noticed most fans singing more anti-Gerrard songs than I actually heard Everton chants. Its become boring now really.. Get back to supporting Everton and forget about Gerrards family.

I saw about 3 ’fights’ (ok all hand bags) and one beating on my way home (about 6 blues on a red)....
It’s not a reflection on EFC or LFC, but rather society innit - yoofs fighting, being nobs etc..........

I was sitting by a group of rs who were thrown out even before we scored for the simple reason that they were trying to provoke a confrontation I agree it is pathetic when away fans cant support their team but we all know the rules when sitting amongst home fans - the truth is that a lot of the rs in the ground yesterday were complete knobheads who wanted a fight - very sad

I saw handbags in the Park End when a couple of reds celebrated their second goal; looked like it could of ended quite nasty!
On my way back to the car (seven miles away), I witnessed a 50+/- year old push a red fan into the Sky Sports wagon outside the ground, pissed myself all the way to the car.
Kopites are gobshites etc etc!

It is 10.30 a.m on Sunday morning and I am still fuming about the result of the Derby and, in particular, the actions of Clattenberg and Gerrard, but in fairness, some RS supporting people did bother to send text messages to us Evertonians to say that they could not believe the refereeing tactics and decisions. Okay for them to say that when they were in their favour!

Paul, The answer to your question is, sadly, no.3.
A problem made worse by the amount of live footy overflowing from the nation’s TVs.

It’s sad but it is no longer a friendly derby. The atmosphere yesterday was nothing like the old days and I have witnessed it deteriorating year on year now. I was also sat by some kopites (in Upper Bullens, nr the Gwladys St end) who had only come to cause trouble. One even stood on a little girl’s chair giving her no option but to squash herself forwards. They were warned once by the safety steward and eventually the police had to remove them. I believe they had also been fighting although I didn’t witness this. They are not football fans but hooligans. The way they won yesterday obviously didn’t help. They are so corrupt as has always been the case. It can only incite hatred if the rules are bent/broken and it will do the game no good in the long run.

what scared me was coming down from the gladys stairs when 5 evertonains said " get that fucking kopite bastard" the kopite was obviously shit scared and a steward had to intervene i went to the derby last year with my dad and again this year but this year was totally different more hatred if anything. thank god its half term and i dont have to see the armchair supporters at my school in worcester. O well coyb for the larrissa game.
