Daring to be different

My grateful thanks to the `fellow Evertonian` who rang my employers today to complain about the time I spent on the internet. No doubt had I criticised Moyes and Blue Bill the call would not have been necessary. As it is I am about to suffer the penalty for free speech!

That’s a really mature response Michael.
Whether or not you agree with Richard’s comments, without any contributors your site would be down the swanny.
You’ve have shown yourself up to be a complete prat by that reply.
As for the person who rang his workplace, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Yeah it seems that there are certain rules for different people on this website. Its a shame that some of the editors seem to want to encourage abuse as a lot of the time they are the pot stirrers.

Mike Tracey arrest your mouth, this has got to be the most open democratic, intelligent site on the web, Mike K is surely aloud to make comments such as the one above. Well done Mike K this is great site for Evertonians of all persuasion escept the idiot who wrote the second post

I wonder what the cost is to the UK economy, of employees dicking about on football forums and websites. Must be huge!

I indulged in some respectful ’jousting’with Richard yesterday on another thread.By way of an aside I referred to his job -although not his employer.I do hope that he will not assume from my comment that I was the cause of his present difficulty,I have better things to do.
Like most who contribute to this site,I disagree with Richard on virtually every issue he raises but respect his right to express a point of view.
I do feel that the introduction of the ’instant response’has led to a lowering of the level of respect we,as Evertonians, show each other though.

Correction, Richard. You are about to suffer the penalty for ’stealing time’ from your employer and mis-using his resources.
PS I hope my boss doesn’t read this!!!!

From his response above,I suspect it was Michael who shopped you,Doddy.
But don’t despair, I’ll be in the Freshie tonight to buy you a pint to ease the pain of yet another ’yellow card’!

Doddy I cant believe I am typing this but I think who ever reported you is low life,no matter that I think you post tripe at least you voice your opinion and without debate any football site is lacking it sounds more like a kopites action to me.

What a shit trick. But seriously,Doddy, what I want to know is if you get the sack from the Council, who is going to empty my bins?

Nobby, what worries me is that if Doddy gets the sack,he’ll have even more time to post his noncense from his home computer!!

Very disappointed to read Michael’s response.
Do you write the same when referring to Tony Marsh’s posts?, I think not.
Not a very professional attitude for an editor, no matter if Doddy is a bit of an attention seeker.

I have to say that as a longtime devotee of Toffeeweb,I am becoming increasingly concerned at the downward path the Mailbag has taken since its format was ’modernised’.Too many of the posts are disrespectful of other’s views and an increasing number merely repetitive profanity.
I can’t believe that anyone would stoop to trying to get a fellow Evertonian sacked from his job for daring to hold a different view from his own but that’s where we’re at,it seems.
Michael, before the site goes completely down the pan,do something ,please, even if it is only some gentle moderation!

Richard, I was appalled to hear that a fellow Evertonian would intentially try to get you in trouble at work. Whoever did this should be fu*king ashamed of themselves. I don’t always agree with your viewpoint but you do put a smile on my face (and I don’t mean that patronisingly). When things appear bleak you remind me why I love Everton with your eternal optimism. I think some of the insults directed at you and others who hold opposing extreme viewpoints are unnecessary and childish and I thank you for not giving up! Same goes for Marshy, Newell, Harry, Anthony etc... Best of luck fellas and don’t forget that we’re all on the same side!
