MAKE Arteta Captain... KEEP Arteta Captain

With the suspension of Phil Neville (thank God) we need to make sure we make Arteta Captain. He's the catalyst of our team. Look at all big clubs, they have their most important player as captain. I think it's the boost he needs and the fact he needs to really feel wanted. Making him Captain will do this I think and will bring out the best of him, and more importantly Everton. Everyone knows this Phil Neville suspension is a blessing in disguise. If not Arteta, then who would you make captain? Cahill would be my second choice, bif if Arteta wanted it, there's no other choice to me.

Choosing a captain is not about giving it to the best player, it is about giving it to someone who is a leader, understands tactics and every position on the pitch. Maybe Arteta is that player but if not then he should not be captain.

isn’t alan stubbs vice-captain so to speak, he is als the most vocal player, i am pretty sure he will be captaining the next couple games, he has done before and nobody can fault his effort and commitment.

i am not saying arteta shouldn’t be captain, just that he won’t.

Mikel is gifted but he has never struck me as a leader. With Phil banned for has admirable attempt to save us on saturday, I guess the most obvious choice is Stubbsy. But doesnt Alan’s place in the team fluctuate? Personally I think Joleon or Tim Howard deserve the captain’s armband. Particularly Joleon considering what a wonderful servant he has been sicne joining us. If not for the injuries and subsequent inactivity on the pitch, I would be looking towards Tiny Tim or Grav to lead us as captain.
