I know we've all had enough of the Derby fiasco but the Times are running an interesting article.

"'I know the real story,' the Scot said. 'I know what has gone on and I know what the referee?s thoughts were because of his comments to me. If the FA want to know the real comments then they need to speak to me.'"

This really does beg the question as to what has gone on behind the scenes. Moyes is clearly not giving this one up without a fight. Can anyone at ToffeeWeb shed any further light on Moyes comments?

None whatsoever, Gerry, but you've got to admire Moyes for maintaining his position and not letting it go quietly.

I have just looked at the article and Mr Moyes has gone up several levels in my estimation. You get used to Managers looking at decisions with blinkers on (Benitez) but Moyes is calling this for what it was.....sinister.

Referees are giving the game all of the credibility that professional wrestling used to have in the days of Grandstand. Keep shouting Dave!

I am proud to have a manager who says what he feels without worrying about the consequences...agreed he may make tactical errors but i am still proud of him after this defeat

I agree with Santosh. But maybe Moyes needs to go one step further and explain what the wanker told him though.

If I was a betting man I would bet Clattenburg will never referee an Everton game again. Why dont they do with him what they always do with Uriah Rennie demote him to a lower division.

Steven, I agree with you but it is dodgy ground directly quoting someone and saying something about someone when you don’t have incontravertable proof to back it up. Just ask Rooney and his Lawyers.

MIchael, whilst I agree that Tablet was a terrible ref, he actually was quite good to us, we have a great game to win ratio when he reffed our home games.

And I also miss shouting, "Uriah, you’re the only Rennie that gives me heartburn"

I suspect that Clattenburg has agreed that he made a mistake, but in a flippant way, " so what we all make mistakes" BUT and the big BUT- he refused to go public about it as it would tarnish his reputation

It’s about time Moyes started sending his teams out to play winning football instead of finding excuses for the crap they serve up.’We don’t talk about referees’,he says, and then goes onto slag them all off.’Its the same with injuries-always some excuse.Does he and his band of worshippers think shit only happens to Everton?

am i the only one who’d think more of a referee who comes out and says
"listen, i’ve seen it on the replays and i made a big mistake,i can only apologise and promise i’ll do my best not to let it happen again"
would that tarnish his rep? i seriously doubt it

Well said Art, I mean the defeat on Saturday was deffinitely the fault of Moyes, no one else can take any blame away from him, it was all down to him.

Well said lad, in fact I want to know where Moyes was 22nd November 1963 also and what about September 11th.

Moyes should ask why he continually plays our third best right back in the position. He was totally at fault for the situation leading up to the 1st Liverpool pen. And Moyes has to shoulder some blame for promoting a defensive system where only two players are back. Two on the half way line and one in the hole between the half way and 18. Amateur league basics. Thank God Hibbert is gone for a few games.

The ref was an absolute wanker as well i should add but that does not admonish Moyes of all blame for a team that can’t pass over 5 yards accurately, defend as a unit, not play hoofball when the heat is on and not play to the strengths of a £12m striker!

Third best??? Are you including Yobo or Jags in this or something?

Yobo at right back is awful, aswell as, unfortunately, in the centre recently and Jags has played there for a half against Palace where he was megged twice and skinned on a few occassions.

How can you say he is better than Hibbert?

Of course the ref was a wanker-most of them are -but the excuses are getting a bit thin, don’t you think?I don’t feel Moyes has a clue what is his best team or even how to deploy his players to best effect.
If so many people weren’t so ’blue-eyed’,they would recognise that this season’s Everton is a bloody mess-far worse than last year.
And,before it starts,I write because I care not because I’m a ’bloody kopite’!

Or maybe bloody idiot, even down to 10 man we played with 2 forwards and at NO time I repeat at NO time were we defending.

We came 4-4-2 we take the game to them, even with 10 men and even with 9 pushing forward and the only thing thing that is getting a bit thin is the air in your head.

We were cheated and all tthe world should know about it. We were cheated so many times against the RS and every time some dickhead will come and tell us to get over it.

No I am pissed off to get over it every bloody time, all credit to Moyes for not letting this going unnoticed. The FA knows that we were cheated, thats why Moyes wont be punished so next time the refferee maybe will think twice before he tries to cut our throat

I actually watched the game with fellow members of the Sydney EFC Supporters Club after a cracking BBQ at one of the lads houses. Prior to kick off, I told them that I was delighted with Clattenburg’s appointment as he was, in my opinion, one of the finest referees to officiate in the Premiership since its inception. This view was based on the fact that unlike Riley, Poll and Styles, he was an unassuming official who normally kept a low profile, had an excellent rapport with the players, kept up with play, made very few bookings and usually adopted a common sense approach to the game. At half time, most of the lads actually agreed with me. What happened in that second half is now history and I can’t for the life of me figure out what possessed the man; did he by chance inadvertently take an ecstacy tablet instead of a paracetamol. It’s sad really because he has permanently tarnished a very good and growing reputation. What riled me more however, was the fact that his antics allowed yet another disgraceful managerial performance by Moyes to slip under the net. Nearly six years on, and I ask myself just how long will Dodd and others on this site accept this dire, one dimentional, ugly football and what possible pleasure can they get from watching such rubbish (one shot on goal during the whole match); School of Science my arse.

Stefan, top shout mate.

I admired Moyes for trying to win the game with 10 men - in fact I was livid with Barry Horne - the hero yet no-mark player he was - when he said on City that we should shut up shop and play for the draw. Liverpool were there for the taking and if the rub of the green had gone our way Howard wouldn’t have saved Kuyt’s penalty (because DK wouldn’t have been there in the first place) Arteta would have scored the one we got for Carragher’s assault and there’d now be a bigger row in the media than there is currently as Liverpool were somehow "injusticed"

To say Saturday’s defeat was Moyes fault is rubbish: the guy had the right mentality. What’s our motto? Nil Satis Nisi Optimum, not Nil Satis Nisi Tesco Value.

Am I alone? There are no postings on this site since 25th October 2007. It’s starting to get to me. I didn’t know how much Toffeeweb meant to me. Where are you, Michael, Lyndon, Colm et al? Come back, all is forgiven!
