Clattenburg... Again

Comments (5)

I may be alone here but I would love it if we get Clattenburg refereeing another of our games. If the FA arn't going to seriously punish him then maybe we could at least watch him squirm at the constant shower of abuse he would have to suffer on his return to Goodison, could there be a more intimidating punishment (just don't make it a game against the top four).

Anyone else remember Clive Thomas’ first game at Goodison after that semi final? Villa at home, I think. Forty thousand whistling as he kicked off...

While I am at Goodison on Sat, hoping the blues get the right result, my thoughts will drift down to Craven Cottage where Fulham play Reading. The reason: two of our more recent inadequate officials will have a big say in the outcome of the match. The referee is Mark Clattenburg, and the senior linesman a Mr Ian Gosling.

We all know the referee's recent history; Gosling was suspended for a poor display during the game Fulham v Middlesborough, when he failed to notice the ball going over the line after a shot by David Healy in the dying moments. Fulham's manager Lawrie Sanchez was scathing of linesman Gosling's general display, So maybe Saturday's game at the Cottage, could be described as the Blind leading the Blind...???

A week has gone by and the clot has yet to make a public appology. Until then he will forever be condemned. Was his vision impaired or what part of the games laws does he not understand? without a proper explantion of his action or lack of we can only conclude that he is either biased or corrupt.
The referees panel and the FA should not be allowed to brush this under the carpet. If no action is taken it will be a clear sign to all fans that those bodies are in the pocket of the big big four.
The recent Italian football scandal was allowed to fester when guardians of the games integrity ignored.the stench of corruption. Rumour and innuendo was rife and fed into discontent bubbling among the honest clubs and their fans. Lately there has been a massive increase in the number of English fans with similar suspicions about favouritsm shown to the big four. I doubt not even the Italian Mafia in its hey day would have dared organise that glaring travesty of fair play witnessed by 40,000 at Goodison and millions of around the world .
Should the English game ever be engulfed in an Italian type of fiasco our authorities cannot claim ignorance.

I think you have a point there, the thought of him getting loads of abuse makes me feel great! :-)

I think he was biased end of story,So whatever he says will be lies he is not going to say "after seeing the replay with Stevie G we have decided It was not a foul"and as much as I would like some one to really hurt the piece of crap hes too far up his own arse to bother about a few chosen words by us lot.
