Manny's Stats

Valencia's manager sacked.... Manny Fernandes out injured, and hasn't featured in over a month, made 2 starts and 2 appearances as a sub... total number of shots taken this year....one. Imagine the letters if he was doing that in our blue kit?

Valencia paid $17 million in a dodgy deal for him, and I bet he doesn't get another game until sometime in 2008! I guess we lucked out on that one.... does anybody on this board still want him for that much money?

Still would love to have Manny at Everton. I saw enough from him in the time he was on loan with my own eyes without having to base my opinion on what is going on at Valencia.

It won’t happen so people should stop thinking it will.

What happened with Fernandes hurt, a lot!

The end of the day he chose mediocrity with Valencia (not at all insinuating they are a mediocre side, just that he will be a bit part player) over becoming a potential legend in the making at Everton.

He’ll have to live with that, we have moved on.

Still recovering from the snub to be honest because we need that third top class midfielder to join cahill and arteta. But at the end of the day he has made his bed and now he has to sleep in it.

By the way, I think pieneer is starting to look a great player...

I would have him it was not a black or white situation ,Kenwright should have had it wrapped up months before he left ,how do we know he snubbed us his owner was offered a better deal how much Manny could do about it no one knows but I agree with the post that said hes gone time to move on.

I know I’ll get shouted down but the one player who I would love to see come to us in January, and realistically could see happen, is Riquelme. The guy is amazing on the ball, amazing from set pieces, commands the middle, and is going to be sold from Villareal as they have already said he will not play for them again. He will be going in January, we should use the money we had for Fernandes and get Riquelme. One further bonus, it would put Everton on the map in Argentina and North and South America in general. Argentina love the guy and would most definitely follow him at Everton and the rest of the Americas know who he is. Marketing is a big part of football, this would be a great move. Could you imagine a 5 man midfield of Pienaar on the left, Carsley holding, Riquelme in the middle with Cahill just behind the striker and Arteta on the Right? If you want passing football this is the team that could provide it.

What a signing Riquelme would be, what a 5 man midfield we would have, but one problem, we have 5 strikers and that would mean only space for 1. By no means am I saying that he would be a bad signing as I would give anything for us to sign him, but would we be able to keep the strikers happy.....

I brought this up because you never know how the game is going to treat you...Manny gets pulled in three different directions by his advisers and they all have a piece of him, and they make money off him, and then he goes into a side that doesn’t want him, with a manager who gets sacked, and he doesn’t get a game, wow...he could have been here...I wonder what he thinks of how these four months have gone for him?

If Manuel Fernandes wanted to play for Everton he would be here now.

Alls he had to do was be patient, the amount of work that went in to that deal was unbelievable. Everton tried to satisfy everyone, including the FA. If he was so keen to sign, he just needed to wait 24 hours and he would have been an Everton player.

If his owner decided to bandy him around he could have dug his heels in atleast.

The point is he didn’t, and he moved.

Riquelme would be an excellent signing but in order for him to want to come to us Everton will have to start including their midfield in games, rather than bypassing it with long balls.

Didn’t we come very close to signing him on deadline day? But he rejected us to rot on the bench at Villarreal?

Why do people keep bringing Riquelme up its fantasy football he is not interested in joining us,If he ever plays over here it will be for one of the top payers, yes hes a great player but this is getting obsessive .

If Valencia’s new manager doesn’t rate Manny we could still see him in blue! Would I welcome back the deserter... Fuck Yeah!

As for Riquelme... I would rather we signed Stephen Appiah. Younger, stronger, possibly cheaper and boy what an engine!

Some of you are like dogs with a bone;
FACT
Fernandes chose to sign for Valencia, move on who now gives a F**K about him.
FACT
Clattenburgs decisions will never be changed now matter how much you go on about him. He wont ref at Goodison again.
FACT
VDM is a useless drunk and a total liability and waste of space, people advocating he should be given a start are crazy, he wouldnt get in the pub team where he drinks.

agree with point 1 & 2, as for VDM - i think he has got his head down and is training hard - he had made mistakes and has apologised......if DM thinks he is fit and mentally ready then I still believe he will perform....he has been through cr@p, but only he is to blame...imagine someone like Bolton signing him and he turns out to be quality ! - all I’m saying is every player has his bad times...maybe this is VDM’s lets just leave him alone.

I think people who call van der Meyde a ’useless drunk’ are poorly informed and read too many tabloids.

If he was a drunk why on earth would he still be training with a Premier League football team?

Because Dominic he signed a contract for X number of years and has to get paid for the contract, he has picked up more wages than Winston Bogarde for doing sweet FA. If he turns up for training he gets paid so why shouldnt he turn up. If you were a useless drunk I am sure your boss would of long fired you, but you cant do that in Football unfortunately.

I’d second that mate.
