Nurnberg: good team, no goalscorers

Comments (2)

I just saw the 10-minutes long highlights of the game Nurnberg played today. They lost 0-1 to reigning champions Stuttgart.

What struck me was that Nurnberg outplayed Stuttgart, particularly in midfield. They really looked a very, very strong side with some flowing football. We'll have great trouble creating much from midfield against them ? it wouldn't surprise me if we reverted to the hated hoofball...

Now the positive note from the game was that although Nurnberg created chance after chance, they just didn't want to finish it off. Their strikers missed four or five 100% goal chances. Wouldn't mind if their finishing is equally poor come Thursday!

All in all, it will be a very tough game, Nurnberg are way better than I expected. But our confidence is sky-high and theirs will be sub-zero, if we manage to score an early goal we've got a decent chance of winning it.

Moyes should rely on experience.Neville should continue at right back.I would play Yobo & Stubbs/Jags in the central defence with Lescott on the left. Its been no suprise that we have gone 4 games unbeaten with the 4-5-1 formation and i will go for that again but the question is who plays up-front???

Nurenburg have been struggling all season really, which shows in the position they are in the league. They have quite a few injuries at the moment and are low on confidence but that will count for nothing when they play us as they will be up for it so it will be a tough game
