Top scorer

Comments (7)

Just a suggestion for your next toffeeweb poll.

Who will be our top scorer this season? All five strikers have now scored after Vaughn's goal yesterday and you should probably add Tim Cahill into the poll.

The positive note is that we have a number of players who can score a goal. A goal threat is something we've lacked in the past but any of our forward players are capable of scoring to change the game.

Just for the record my vote goes (with fingers crossed) to Yakubu as he has the proven track record but I'd be happy to be proved wrong if its a high total by another player!

My vote for leading goalscorer goes to Joleon Lescott as he will play more games than the others.

If the Yak doesnt go to the African Nations cup then the top scoring striker could well be him.

if we continue to play a more creative game, once he realises he isnt employed to chase shite punts to the corner flags
AJ will get a bagfull - he’ll also miss the most chances

I agree...if ’tubby the yak’ does not go to the African Nations cup, then he will be top scorer... and by then he might of lost a few pounds !!!!

See you all in NUremberg........

Its too early to say, and anyhow a forward player may be sold in the January window. Thats maybe not going to happen with any of our players, but as for the striking department i would see vaughan or yakubu having the highest tally come may.

Although johnson is due to return any time now, i cannot see him being highest scorer. I can see him getting to double figures, but surely that is what is expected of him for the fee we paid. McFadden is a useful player but is used on the bench too much, and Cahill will always score important goals, and will more than likely get into double figures himself.

Sod it- Cahill to be top scorer. Anichebe is a fresh young exciting player but his day is yet to come.
