AJ's new contract

Comments (7)

Great news for us and hopefully it'll mean he comes back with a bang and starts netting straight away. Nice to think that all the crap rumours in the redtops, linking him to West Ham, will now be put to bed but I reckon the Sun and the People will both have WHU coming up with a much larger offer than the £9 million last quoted for him!!!

I think a 'well done' should go to the Everton Board as they seem to have tied up all of our better players to long-term deals... just need to sort out Pienaar now!!!

AJ is the latest of our big name players to sign a new contract. Great news IMHO! Hopefully now the London Clubs will start sniffing around elsewhere. Evidence enough for me that rumours of a 'fall out' with Moyes are nothing more than tabloid bullshit.

I also think this says something about how good the players attitudes and the team spirit is at Everton. Although AJ knows he has a lot of talented competition, he's willing to stay and fight for his place.

Get Pienaar signed in January!

Isnt Pienaar on a 1 year/season loan with the option to buy him at the END of that year/season?

Allan

Yes he is on a season long loan but why wait until the end of the season after everybody else has had a look at him, fancy signing him, and end up out bidding us as has happened on more occasions than I care to remember!?

Remember also that Tim Howard was on a season long loan deal but we tied that up as a permanent move well before the loan deal expired...........plus with Pienaar we wont have any ’gentlemans agreements’ to worry about!

why the need to sign a new contract? what was wrong with the one he had that he signed last year....could this explain why he was not firing on all cylinders ie had his nose put out of joint due to Arteta’s and Cahills pay rises.....hmmmm - odd one that for me....

Jez right with you on that. only about a year has gone from when we signed him. could be their pay rises thats caused this...or how about a minimum fee release clause getting put in b4 january?

I knew that despite the good news about AJ signing a new contract some would look for something sinister in the deal,
