Refreshing!

Comments (9)

Just a quick note to say how refreshing it is to finally have a squad with not just numbers, but also quality.

Take our front five for example. Before the season started, all the talk was that Spurs may have the most potent forwads in the league. I would suggest (maybe with a degree of bias) that there are not many clubs in the league who can boast the quality, depth, numbers and variety that we have.

We finally have a Number Two keeper who we are confident can come in and do a job. This on top the list of young developing keepers we already have.

We have plenty of cover and options at the back. An example of this is the abilty to call on a player of the pedigree and quality of Valente for Thursday's game.

And in midfield we have a mix of footballers and battlers and of course Tim Cahill. Ok we may need a centre midfielder who can pass it, but all in all or midfield is looking pretty healthy.

Add to this the fact that our Under-18's are flying with some really exciting prospects coming through, such as Baxter and Rodwell, and I really have to say its a time to be optimistic and positive both on and off the pitch.

Come on the Blues!

MMmm - methinks there is a slapper of a kopite in the room. I would like to recite the names of the overpriced crap that has past through Anfield in the past 5 years but I can’t remember too many of them. Houllier must have spent close to £50M in his final years and the only talent on display was from Gerrard and Owen. Home grown blues who wandered to the dark side. Tragic.

Wow - that was a rough pint. Firstly apologies Mr. Slap but you must admit your post looked like some piss poor RS attempt at mickey taking. But the tone - well that really does belong several sewers below Anfield.

I think we need an arbitrator on this one - I nominate Mr. Clattenburg.
