Nice of the BBC, Talksport etc. to come out today and mention how well behaved our fans were last night; before, during and after the game.

I am of course being sarcastic. As Lyndon pointed out yesterday, they are quick to tar us with the RS brush but without any foundation for this; but not so quick to be complementary when found to be wrong.

Of course I didn't expect it to be any different but it still makes me mad.

For what it's worth, well done from me to the thousands who made the trip and did us proud; with their vocal support for the team and their role as ambassadors for our Club.

Great atmosphere, great result, well behaved fans.

I have to admit I was worried when I learnt many Evertonians would be in the home end, but the night passed without any ill feeling or violence. And for this we should be praised!

I would like to add to Steve and Dominick’s comments:
To all those Everton fans who were present at the game last night....you are a true credit to the players, to the club, to the country and to the sport. I envy you for the experience you must have thoroughly enjoyed last night!

As an aside.....I know this is a long shot but I went to the Everton game last year when they played Columbus Crew here in Ohio...I took my two daughters with me....they had a great time but more so because of the very vocal support offerred by one particular Everton fan who was sat (stood) in front of us...bit of a character I might add....white guy with long rasta-style hair-do.....scouse accent.......if you’re reading this THANKS for making my daughters trip that day all the more special!!

And,
Chelsea 1 Everton 2

Martin,

If you are right with your prediction I will start a new religion! Are you from anywhere interesting? Like Bethlehem for instance? Or Liverpool?

I e-mailed UEFA today to find out if it was indeed a high risk fixture. I asked them to confirm how many were arrested inside and outside the ground.

Guess what?

NO REPLY!!

We are Everton Mr Uefa not some scumbag club.

As proud as I was of the boys on the pitch last night, I reckon I was even more proud of our awesome support!!

Stuck here half a world away with no satellite and only live commentary on the website, I could almost feel I was right there with you folks, the singing and cheers were so loud. You drowned out the home side. Superb stuff!

And good on yas again for acting as fantastic ambassadors for the club. You all did us nothing but proud. What a blast you must’ve had!

Now all you go to the Big Smoke on Sunday and do the same thing - we’ll need our 12th man. Roll on the Blues!

Steve

Leave the neighbours out of this mate, Like you, I knew our Boys n Girls would conduct themselves properly, it’s what we do. The behaviour of other clubs followers should be of no concern to us
I dont think you needed to raise this point, but given that we were once banned even though our behaviour was, is, and will continue to be, impeccable I understand why you did

To Dave Roberts,
I’m from somewhere very interesting.....Birmingham, England although due to rather bad geography talents I now live in Canton, Ohio, USA.

Like some of the comments have implied....beating Chelsea on Sunday is -- well, obviously it’s a test, a signs of progress etc., etc -- but I think it would be the icing on the cake and real proof that we are heading in the right direction.
Granted a draw would be an excellent result (I’d take it!)...do I think we can beat Chelsea..............yes.
Any score prediction is irrelevant...I’d take 1-0 to us as much as I’d take 6-0 to us.....I really would have been born in Bethlehem to think 6-0 to us!

Either way, whatever happens, the lads are working their effin butts off and I’m so proud of them and proud to be an Everton fan.......even lost somewhere in the USA!

One quick observation.........I’ve watched a couple of Red Shite games on the tele of late.....can’t help but notice the surly, contemptuous look on the faces of the Shite players and the instant need to call everything theirs, not to mention the odd dive or two or rash tackle....Kuyt and Gerrard in particular but all of them seem.....jeez, even Benayoun is doing it now and he’s only been there a short time!
Yes, I’m heavily bias but this is something I really don’t see in the Everton players.........just makes me all the more proud of them!!

Dave (Wilson).....you hit the nail on the head as to why I mention the RS but I don’t accept that it is unnecessary. We’ve been victims of the RS hordes’ antics for what seems like forever. It continues to grate when we are yet again lumped in with them for no better reason than we come from the same city.

It’s lazy journalism and petty bureacracy and I always feel we need to highlight it and not allow their behaviour to a) be swept under the carpet because it’s non PC to do otherwise and b) used as mitigation for crapping on our Club (again).

Just to add a comment; several RS fans have been arrested today in a Transport Police operation following serious assaults on rival fans after a pre-season game v Wrexham in July. Says it all, really, doesn?t it?
