BB Don't See

Comments (3)

What do you make of the this excuse by the BBC as to why they didn't cover Everton's UEFA Cup exploits?

Who had the rights then? Was it the rather annoying Setanta who seem to pick a lot of Everton games. A lot to subscribe to having already paid for Time Warner Cable (60 quid a month) or Sky if you're in the UK!

Unfortunatley, I think in the modern age, you have no option but to respect the rights limitations that prevent all but the licesnees from broadcasting certain pictures.

But aren't you one of the lucky ones who gets the full Uefa Cup games live on Fox Sports Channel over in Yankeeland ? virtually for free! Whaddaya complaining about!

Unfortunately I’m at work when the UEFA Cup games are on! I’ll have a day off if (big if) we make the final though.

I must admit FSC is pretty good and probably has more live games than Sky.

You even get an hour slot of Sky Sports News as part of the schedule most nights. Pity one of their main presenters is a rather annoying English kopite.

I must say though, Everton are pretty popular over here. I think a lot of people relate to that working class, gritty determination. I think Rooney defintately raised our profile here plus having Tim Howard in the team is a big bonus. With Everton initiatives such as Everton Conneticut (a guy from work’s daughter played against them) and our pre-season friendlies, there really is a good marketing opportunity here. I just don’t think we’re quite making enough of it.

Setanta had the online rights, I live in NJ & watched the last two Everton matches live with Setanta Broadband. It’s a quality service but costs more than it should in my opinion. If you subscribe the entire year you get Champions League, rugby world cup, etc. Some posters on here report free websites to watch footy on, but beware of viruses/malware.
