Everton interested in Sissoko

Just read at a Bulgarian sports site that Everton have expressed interested in Momo Sissoko who might leave Liverpool in January.
Liverpool have reportedly rejected a 7 million pound offer from Juventus in the summer, but now may be willing to sell ot Inter or Everton.
I am very skeptical about this going anywhere although I won't be unhappy if it does. He is younger and ten times better than any of your defensive midfielders. And he is taller.

I remember a while back us being interested in Finnan and Traore, and although I and many other Evertonians I knew weren’t exactly warm to the idea, Moyes was.
If Moyes thinks Sissoko would be a good addition then I trust his judgment; we’ll just have to bite the bullet.
I have to say then when we were originally linked with the player I was very excited.

I’d like Sissoko. Moyes likes to have a solid defensive midfielder sitting in front of the back four. Carsley is getting old. Sissoko is the real deal. Go for it! (And free up Mikel, Tim, Steven to attack defences.)

I know enough of the RS to know, in their opinion (which isn’t usually worth much, I admit!), that Sissoko is crap! He’s typical of what many modern footballers have become - athletes first, footballers second. All I hear from them is how bad he is - and having seen him in several Derby games, I’d have to agree. A lucky escape last time, methinks, and I sincerely hope there is nothing in this one.

Have you seen him pass the ball? No wonder the kopites call him Stevie Wonder!!

Did’nt we try to sign Sissoko, only for the Red Shite to nick from under our noses. Totally agree with you Bob, over priced and over rated. Hope there’s no truth in this one.

I wonder if Moyes sees something in Sissoko that he may be able to get out, after all the fat waiter seems to find it difficult to get the best out of anyone other than Stevie G.
With the talk of Arteta going to Athletico Moyes will need a replacement as well as Sissoko.

I hope this is just another ridiculous rumour, I can’t see why anyone would want him.

I hope its only a rumour as Sissoko has been god awful any time I’ve watched him. My bro is a kopite and he cringes when he’s in the team. He couldn’t pass water and anything close to £7 million would be madness.
As for Arteta going to Atletico. I couldn’t see it to be honest. He’s just signed a long term deal and they are no great shakes of a team.
If Arteta did leave and Sissoko was brought in to fill the gap we’d be in serious trouble. I hope its all speculation.

Apart from getting Everton players sent off in the derby he is good for nothing, can’t pass to save his life, glad we missed him first time around. Wouldn’t give the RS ten bob for him never mind £7m

Forget Sissoko we were lucky last time.I havent seen him have a decent game at all.
Lets take a look at the russian Arshavin I think he’s called who plays for Zenit and was apprently the main reason they won the league this year. Also think we missed out on Reo Coker who is starting to look the business now.

Guess I’m in the minority here on Sissoko! I think he actually started pretty well at the Reds (and got a lot of good ratings by a lot of poeple), but has clearly lost his way over the past year or so. I would bet that has as much to do with Benitez’ tinkerings, and the impact it has had on Sissoko’s confidence and consistency, as it has on the player’s basic talent.
Yes, he is a midfield destroyer, not a player of defence splitting passes. But that is what we need along with our other more creative players (to be added to hopefully). I think Moyes may still fancy that he can get a lot more out of Sissoko than Benitez has.

I rather give Da Silva a chance in the first team than buying someone from the red shite.

If we are going to be buying a new central midfielder, there is no reason why we should be restricting ourselves to a player who can either pass/get forward, or who can only be a defensive .
Fernandes is the kind of player who was capable of both and I think that after that deal fell through it was mooted that Stephen Appiah might be coming instead. He is a superb player too.
Since Sissoko decided to join the shite, I think we have moved up a level in terms of the quality of our signings, so I would be surprised if Moyes would consider him now.

My god! The lad can’t even pass the ball... He is woeful. Fair enough, he breaks up play, but give me Lee Carsley anyday over Momo...
All my mates who are liverpool fans think he is quite poor because of his lack of passing ability.. I would tend to agree. Better ways to spend 7 million.

I seem to remember he did the dirty on us!! Was supposed to sign for Everton and then fatty Beneathcontempt stepped in and signed him, Sissoko preferring to go to the shite because he had played for Benitiz before..... no thanks. If we aren?t good enough first time around then he can get stuffed!!
