Johnson, Yakubu, Vaughan, McFadden and Anichebe. All what I consider to be top-class Premiership strikers. I would say any of these players would walk into any team in the bottom half of the league.
I am finding it difficult to distinguish between them. I genuinely believe they all add value and quality to the squad, which we can only credit Moyes on. At the moment, due to our participation and progression in all the cup competitions, we can say they are all happy, as there is enough football to go round.
However, if we do not qualify for Europe this year, and considering we like to adopt the 4-5-1 formation to maximise Cahill?s impact, how are we going to keep these guys happy?? And I put it to the ToffeeWeb readers, when there isn?t enough football to go round, who do we keep? and who do we let go? Because at the moment, I think they?re all great players, so I have no idea!

I would get rid of McFadden, I just can’t see him making it in the Prem. He has been here a few years and still hasn’t established himself. I think Vaughan is a world beater and we would be fools to let him go, Victor is getting better with every game, his finishing and general gameplay this season has been excellent. AJ and the Yak’s records speak for themselves.

They won’t let McFadden go... unless Scotland beat Italy tomorrow, and he scores a few. Then they’ll sell him for like 8 million pounds to Celtic. I don’t know if I’d like to see him go. He’s inconsistent, but he can produce magic. He’s like a wild card in the hand, he’s hard to put into an opponents plan of action. You never know what he’s going to do. But five strikers is too much.

"Top class premiership strikers"...who..."would walk into any team in the bottom half of the league". Come on Chris, apart from McFadden, they would walk into most teams apart from the Top 4. We have a frontline to be very positive about,

We will only have 3 of those lads come Jan/Feb for the ACN, so even taking into account the 4-5-1 Cahill situtation, I think it quite unlikely McFadden will be sold then, if at all really. I thhink Moyes likes McFadden but has no clue where to play him. He’s an impact player really as Phil points out, can be quite useful with 20 mins to go and we need players like that. I for one would be sorry to see him go if he did leave. But you are right lads, I wouldnt pick him as a starter over the other 4. It could quite well be AJ, Vaughn & McFadden for a long spell in Jan/Feb if Nigeria do well in the tournament so McFadden will get more of a look in, especially with UEFA cup & other cups then. (although not looked at the fixtures so dunno what games we have then). 5 may be too many strikers but with the amount of games we have...is it really too many? I cant see Moyes sticking with 4-5-1 the rest of the season can you fellas? Will Cahill stay injury free? And if he goes back to 2 up front, I’d be happly with any rotation combination of the first 4 strikers and then McFadden.

Great my arse! We shall be lucky to get 20 goals between the lot of them in a season. How can you use the word when we have had some of the real greats at Goodison-Dean,Lawton,Latchford etc..
This lot pale by comparison. Why do today’s Evertonians go so over the top at the sniff of a smidgeon of talent.

Thats one way to look at it another is Johnson (like 2 goals in 2007), Yakubu (very lazy), Vaughan (never available due to injuries), McFadden (inconsistant) and Anichebe (questionable mentality, just ask the Nigeria boss).

Another way of looking at it is "5 top class strikers" and who is our top goalscorer? Defender Lescott.

Crikey Brian, you are a hard man to please if you insist on comparing our strikers to Dixie Dean!!
Lets clone Maradona and Pele and get them signed up straight away! Will that do ya?!!
