Scotland Job!

Comments (10)

Jimmy Armfield to name just one actually mentions David Moyes name as a possible ENGLAND manager. DM himself has laughed off the posability. However should we be worried about the possbility of the Scotland job becoming available? Walter Smith and Alex McCliesh obviously rate club management more highly and hopefully Moyes will feel the same but I would be suprised if he isn't among the favourites!

The Scotland job was taken by out of work managers in the past. Walter and McLeish were not managing at the time of their appointment, its a stepping stone job to better things, if Birmingham can entice McLeish out of that job why on earth would Moyes at a bigger club want to take on a part time job managing Scotland, watching Motherwell v Hearts or Dundee Utd v Aberdeen every Saturday.

I can?t see Moyes wanting to leave Everton at a time when his team are really starting to gel. We are finally playing football on the ground and his players are obviously loving it. I really don?t think he?d give up the potential he has here for teh Scotland job - or England job, for that matter.

What if Gordon Strachan were to be offered the Scotland job and in doing so make the Celtic job available? Would this tempt Moyes?

Moyes is loyal and is beginning to reap the fruits of his dilligent service to date. His is an Everton dynasty build on solid foundations with the main struts to success taking shape nicely now. Everton gave him his crack at the big time and he’ll not be daft enough to hand the reigns over to someone else to pick up the trophies that await us soon with continued progress. Arise King David, leader of the mighty Everton parish as it is about to strides back atop the pinnacle of our great game! (My Cup half full? You betcha...it runneth over on back of 7-1 exhibition...bring on Pompey!)

Billy Davies - all over it! I don’t think I’m being naive when I say that Moyes is an honest and committed person. I really think he will honour his contract unless a massive job comes up. I know that he has stated his desire to manage Celtic and Scotland but he has said time and again that he has got work to do at Everton and I don’t see him leaving now that we are entering a potentially fruitful period. Give it two or three years and Moyes will be at a point where he’ll know if there is anything more he can do at our club and whether job offers are worth listening too. And until someone puts an offer in then we’re worrying about nothing.

David Moyes is not going anywhere. He models himself on the most famous of Scottish mangers who built dynasties in England, Matt Busby, Bill Shankly and SAF
Moyes will be with Everton for the long haul and in my opinion will win trophies.
My only concern about Moyes leaving is when SAF retires, he maybe tempted by a large budget and the chance to manage Europe’s largest club.
Who knows when that will be but we may well be in a completely different situation by then.

Peter
I could not imagine why a premiere League manager would want to head to Scotland, lets be honest the only temptation would be Champions League Football, I lived up in Glasgow for a couple of years and that is it Glasgow, the old firm, it really is a shite league, the football is poor and the crowds at some grounds is a joke, I remember a game only 1500 turned up. Backward step mate and I think most decent managers in England know that.

No way.. Everton are a too exciting club to manage for him to leave. Why would anybody want to leave Everton by the way they’re playing at the moment.

I think he’ll get the Scotland job eventually.. but that’s in at least 5 years or so.

The Birmingham job is apparently so big McLeish couldn’t wait to get the hell out of Scotland and into a relegation battle where he might not even have a job after Christmas if the takeover goes through. We are a much bigger pull than Birmingham and Moyes is starting to reap the benefits of 5 years work. No way would he leave for Scotland.

Celtic however - that’s another matter. However, I’m sure Moyes knows the Celtic job will be there for him in the future.
