Diabolical!

Comments (12)

Just been reading the BBC about the possible candidates for the new Jockland boss and I'm enraged that they don't even consider Moyes for the job. Don't get me wrong: I don't want him to go but to not even consider one of the best young managers in the Prem not forgetting hes a Jock as well is an insult.

It prob means one of two things: they don't think he would leave Everton anyway so didn't even bother listing him. Or yet again it's another media snub for anything to do with Everton.

Er... I think that would be for the first blatantly obvious reason you state. Stop being silly. David Moyes is going nowhere.

The last Scotland manager leaves the post after 11months to manage a team in the lower reaches of the English Prem, as the BBC said the move was more about the league the club are in rather than the actual club.

So a manager is going to leave a team he has built in that league to a very good level and still improving to go manage Scotland?

No chance.

Oh my goodness, you?re right.

But look, Alex Ferguson wasn?t mentioned either, maybe the media are snubbing Man Utd as well!

Scotland is a part time job for a country that will be knocked out in the qualifiers.
The Premier League managers are the creme de la creme of world managers and why should a manager such as Moyes be considered for a job that would be a demotion.
How would you feel if your manager of the Bank of England being considered to be manager of the Royal Bank of Scotland Motherwell High Street branch.

At the risk of being branded "an apologist" once more, our Scotland reject has been shown today, in the Carling Opta stats, to be our most reliable Premiership manager to date.

His win percentage rate is better than his nearest rival, Joe Royle, even though Joe didn’t manage EFC for half as many games in the league as Davey thus far has.

In a wider context, Joe’s only trump at this time is that he delivered silverware, in the form of the 1995 FA Cup. To be hopes Davey can convert his superior win ratio into some trophies!

Don? be so stupid Dan.

He wasn?t mentioned because it?s a 2nd rate job. Why do you think McLeish has left to join Birmingham? Not for the day to day of club management but because he?s tripled his wages. Even Walter Smith left to go back to Rangers.

Moyes wasn?t listed because it?s a job he wouldn?t be interested in. Only people like Billy Davies will get linked to it.

Are you really ?enraged? Dan?

Might be fair to point out that most of these moves are about money and little else.

The fact that Moyes is paid close to five times the annual salary that McLeish was getting from Scotland could be a small clue to exactly why David Moyes is not being mentioned for the Scotland post.

Shankly and Alan Irvine wren?t mentioned either and I have ?distanced myself from the appointment? in the same way as Curbishly has from the England job.

If we’re ever going to be the self-confident success everyone’s hoping surely we’ve got to stop all this paranoid twaddle. If it’s not the media against us it’s the refs or the G14 and on and on.
Just for the record the BBC website piece gives this reason why Alex McLeish chose the Premier League:
"It was the chance to pit his wits against his old mentor Sir Alex, Rafa, Arsene, MOYES (my caps) and the rest that has seen Big Eck pack his bags for the English Premier League."
Elevated company indeed for DM.

Plus it only pays peanuts compared to club football. Mcleish was on £350,000 at Scotland and has walked into a million plus deal with the brums.
