The Mail Bag

January could have been worse

January could have been worse. For the premiership matches when we are missing our African contingent. Yes all games are tough but while they are away we are playing:

Man City (h) Wigan (a) Tottenham (h)

February Tougher ?

Blackburn (a) Reading (h)

........hopefully we’ll also be playing some cup games- our only hope of a trophy-----some of us over forties never give up on that stuff........you know....winning things......as in- fuck fourth....lets have that discussion......

Paul I think these days the mangers gotta balance on challenging for highest league placing possible (prob 4th) and getting a trophy through the cups. But its catch 22 as the top 4 are winning the domestic cups now due to size & quality of squads which was achieved by just being in the top 4 year after year.

Myself personally i would fucking go bananas if we won a cup, we deserve one. But we have to keep the league as our number one priority in my opinion as the higher up league you finish, you get more money, more exposure, better players coming in etc etc this surely will give you more chance of getting what we want......winning something. The 2 go hand in hand.

What d’you reckon?

Hope that story about Yakubu snubbing Nigeria is true, that will be a big help! At least the league games arent as tough as they could be, but there are still no walkovers in that list!

......point taken John that that 4th has to be the priority.....BUT cup wins guarantee us Euro competition.....as we say in pionts west of Mersyeside....."shite or bust"
