Acid Test?

Comments (4)

I have always thought that our only priority over the last five years was our position in the Premier league. It cannot be a coincidence our cup form has been so bad under D.M.

If we can can progress on Wednesday to the last four of the C.C. playing away to decent P.L. side then I will be convinced we have finally become a top six side. Posters have said it is only one game but how many would have backed is to win this tie in the past? If we do make it will it be because of our increase in squad numbers and a quality bench, or does Davey finally believe in himself?

Confidence aligned to now possessing a greater squad gives us a chance against most teams.

Kevin, regardless of the CC result if you do not recognise the fact that this squad is by far the strongest we have had for many a year you would be very hard to satisfy.

The bookmakers aren?t so confident, with two out of the big three bookmakers favouring a West Ham win. The other bookie has both teams level. Its trading on the exchanges in favour of them.

However, I beleive backing us in the asian line handicap with (0) @ evens is a great bet. Yakubu to score 2+ goals @ 16/1!

David Moyes has never taken the Carling Cup seriously and hasn’t appeared much more interested in the FA Cup. That’s baffling to me. These are winnable competitions in which clubs like Arsenal, M** U** Chelsea and one or two others often field weakened teams. Yet I suspect he would rather have three points from West Ham than advance in the Cup. It will be interesting to see the difference between the team selections for the two games. Perhaps as we get closer to a final, he’ll have more commitment.

Nice bit of anti Moyes sneaked in there Peter, personally I?d be delighted if we reached any final as our last final was in 1995 wen i was nearly 3 yrs old so I?ve had 8 bad seasons statistically and 4 good in my living memory
