Anichebe out of Nigeria squad

The good news is that Anichebe has not been selected for the Afrincan Nations Cup, the bad new is that Yakubu has.
See: Anichebe not selected.

Lets hope no one drops out for him to replace, may signal the end of Faddy in Jan if he stays as we have an extra striker. I only wish the Yak would have another row with Vogts.

AJ needs to take this opportunity to prove he is a striker of premiership quality. Without doubt Moyes first reaction after loosing Yak to AFCON will be to make AJ first choice striker. He?ll need to score consistently, otherwise I think he?ll go the same way as Beattie!

If the Yak gets another row with Vogts he’ll call Anichebe up as his replacement.

Poor Anichebe, he was so looking forward to joing up with the squad. Well, he’s still young enough and there will be plenty more opportunities.

Great News! That means we can still look at offloading James McFadden and still have 3 strikers fit and ready to play.
And with the £4m Birmingham or Rangers are hopefulling willing to pay we can potentially bring in another midfielder.
Mind you I?m still hoping that Nigeria and South Africa go out in the first round!

Does this mean that Victor could, if he wanted to, still be called up for England? Not that I would wish this on him, but it would at least put any future missing weeks in sync with the PL fixtures.

The squad has 31 in it and will be trimmed to 23 so very little chance of him getting a callup to replace injured players. If he had any sense he would play for England now the way Vogts has treated him.

I swear some of you lot block out all the good stuff that Faddy does and only remember the bad. Take a look at how much he has improved this year by having a few more games under his belt. Alright he loses the ball a few too many times, because he tries to take on defenders, hang on I remember posts a while back compaining that nobody in the Everton squad was prepared to take on opponents, hmmm.
If Faddy takes on defenders fifteen times in a match loses the ball 10 times and creates 5 scoring opportunities then I think he is doing ok. For some of you I think he could create 13 scoring opportunities and you would still want to get rid because of the two occasions he lost the ball.
Oh Well. Can’t please some people

I don’t think the lad is going anywhere - Moyes has reiterated time and time again that McFadden is still part of his plans.
