Touchline Ban?

Comments (8)

Ferguson received a touchine ban today, I would imagine Moyes might be in for the same treatment, at a crucial part of the season. How will this affect our illustrious, but pitch-hugging, leader?

And more to the point - how will this affect the players? Internet rumours have abounded over the years over Moyes at times "having" or "losing" the dressing room with his hands-on training and match-time antics.

What will be the result? I for one will be watching with eagle eyes...

Ferguson ranted direct to the ref on the touchline and was banished to the stands. Moyes made his comments to the press not on the touchline therefore he is unlikely to receive a touchline ban.

Ferguson was ’sent off’ by the ref for abusive behaviour and language during the game which is punishable by a touchline ban but Moyes’ charge relates to thingds he said to the press after the game and will be punishable with a fine not a ban.

Yeah Moyes will really lost the dressing room with a touchline ban...I don’t think. If anything his players will think more of him for sticking to his guns. How many touchline bans have Wenger and Ferguson had ? They never seemed to lose the players; quite the opposite.

Are you just trying to find another way to have a go at DM because the old criticisms don’t wash anymore ?

The funny thing is Moyes was right and had every reason to say what he did. I thought we lived in a free-speaking democracy?

If the BNP can lecture at Oxford or wherever, why the hell can’t Moysey tell the FA where to shove it.

If he does get a ban then it shouldn’t affect things too much.

One of the things I’ve noticed recently is how quiet DM has become compared to earlier on in the season.

All you could hear from the sidelines at one point was him screaming constantly at the players, but now there is usually the odd jesture or quiet word. No doubt a reflection on how well the players are performing.

Dan,

Free-speaking democracy and the Football Association are two concepts which are anathema to each other!

The FA over recent years have been hell-bent on demonstrating that they run the game in the UK and that is fine in principle because they (or something like them) should. But they exercise this demonstration by making decisions based on the assertion that neither THEY nor their employees can ever be wrong. The best thing that could happen to the FA in my opinion would be for the Premier League to ask the question why it needs the FA! That would scare them shitless.
FIFA may not like it but there is no legal reason for the FA to be the judge and jury that it is. Mind you, we would have to be bloody sure that the alternative set up wasn’t as bad or too biased the other way!

Garth Crooks gave Clottenburg a right going over today for his latest performance in Wigans 5-3 win over Blackburn.
