The Mail Bag

Fernandes made one hell of a bad choice!

I know how the mention of Manny here drives debate, but after reading this, it got me thinking. That last minute U-turn of his to not join us, must rank as one of the worst decisions made by any player ever! Valencia are in right proper meltdown!

I for one, think that if he did become available we should not take him. Unless we can get some kind of Tesco value price for him! Sign Pieneer up pronto instead! A cheeky bid for a clearly disgruntled Joaquin might be a good idea too!

I’d be lying if i said I didn’t have a big wide grin on my face when I hear how Fernandes is getting on. He signed autographs and posed for pictures with the fans the day before he turned his back on us. Truth is he is quality, and will probably find some form with a struggling Valencia side and probably get shipped on to another team in the next season or two. I would never welcome the lad back here though. No matter if it was for pittance, he has shown his true colours and it is not in keeping with the spirit that Moyes has built with our side. Though Pienaar may lack in physicality, he more than makes up for this with work ethic and is a much more attractive addition to our team.
We will also need to sign cover for Carsley whether in January or the Summer. He has been immense and I do not trust Jags or Neville to do ajob should he be out.

Yawn....
Let’s accept that we’ll never know the true extent of what happened in the summer.
There’s nothing to suggest that in his time here the lad did anything other than play out of his skin for us.
I’d take him back tomorrow.

I keep repeating myself on Fernandes.

FERNANDES DID NOT SNUB US.
FERNANDES DID NOT CHOOSE VALENCIA OVER US.
FERNANDES DID NOT HAVE ANY CHOICE OVER THE MOVE.
FERNANDES DID NOT CHOOSE TO JOIN PORTSMOUTH ON LOAN OR EVERTON ON LOAN.

Get the picture? Where he plays his football was down to the sports company that own him 50% and Benfica.

I for one fell really sorry for him and would take him in January if we had a chance,
