Wright had a blinder of a 1st year for us breaking the Premier League consecutive clean sheet record!!! BT scored some big goals for us!!
Where are the likes of Li Wei Feng, Baardsen, Eddy Bosnar, Plessis, Anderson de Silva, Rodrigo, Ibrahim Said, Andy van der Meyde, Pistone the second time around? In fact there are probably 1 or 2 more he signed who were a totl waste of fees and wages. Krøldrup aside at least the others actually did something for us!

My favourite moment from sat. goes like this (if I can remember it straight!) from the Sky commentators: "...and Parker tries to get it past Lescott....good luck" as Joleon tears the ball off and sends it back upstream yet again.
He’s not the finished product, but he’s damn close. Love that lad. Love em all, actually!

As for the original list it’s perhaps fair to say that aside from Kroldrup, who not many have heard of, most of the fans were delighted with players such as Beatts, Davies and Wright who all turned out to be not so good. And as for the best we’re saying what about Howard, what about Bent, what about Kilbane etc I think this says a lot about Moyes’ overall success in the market.

I saw that jury heading out the door, but to be fair they were wearing #22 kits ;)

Brian McBride (for the brief moment)

Cahill (12 million +)? No, I would say 8 million+
Arteta (12 million +)? No, I would say 8 million+
Lescot (10 million +)? I think around 10 million would be about right
Yobo (14 million+)? No, less than lesscot, so about 8 million...

1. Mikel Arteta (Great player, Everton’s most enjoyable to watch, only cost a couple of million).
2. Nigel Martyn (Purchased for peanuts but made 100 appearances becoming the most consistant Everton goalie since Southall).
3. Joseph Yobo (Matured into a great defender and fantastic role model).
4. Joleon Lescott (Class from the moment he made his debut. Strong, good pace and maturing into a great).
5. Tim Cahill (Many managers looked but only Moyes took a chance. Fantastic find).
6. Phil Neville (Our Captain has played consistantly in almost every game over the last three years. A true professional and winner whose attitude has clearly inspired his teammates.
7. Tim Howard (Everton’s current No1 is dependable and consistant. His reputation was in tatters after a difficult Man Utd spell but Moyes took a chance and was rewarded.
8. Alan Stubbs (Was somehow allowed to leave the club but Moyes brought him back on a free. Everton legend).
9. Andy Johnson (Works incredibly hard and scores goals now and again. To be fair he has still to justify his large transfer fee but is certainly one of the better strikers in the Premiership)
10. Steven Pienaar (When everyone complained about losing Fernandes, Moyes kept quiet knowing he already had a gem in Pienaar).

It also means the likes of Pienaar (and I am his biggest fan btw ;), Yak (ditto Pienaar) et al cannot yet come into the equation. For me, using the ’at least one season’ criteria, it would be (in no particular order):
1. Cahill
2. Arteta
3. Lescott
4. Yobo
5. Martyn
23 Posted 18/12/2007 at 10:22:54
1. Cahill (Fantanstic player, Even Madrid would want a player like him)
2. Tim Howard, he doesn?t get the credit he deserves, but his World Class!!
3. Arteta, a little genius!
4. Lescott, one of the best English defenders in a very very long time.
5. Yobo, great defender, is a bit doggy at times, but brings a lot of stabilaty to our defence. Now a days, you need a tough African defender to compete with the best!
On the Steven Pienaar issue, if Moyes signs him and he re-capture the form of 2003-04, then he should be the one of the best top three signings DM ever made. Our good form only started when Moyes started giving Pienaar a starting lineup run in the team. (After the Liverpool loss; Moyes never should have left him warming the bench the whole game)

Its also Moyes who has kept Carsley at the club by offering him new contracts.
Carsley may not have been originally signed by Moyes but he is a Moyes player.

He could change my opinion on Sunday though.
