Yakubu

Comments (13)

It didn't take long did it?? The Daily Telegraph now has it that Yakubu is off to Chelsea for a paltry £15mill.

After proving he is worth the money we have paid for him, started to get him into the condition required to fit into the team, I am sorry but I can't believe this for one second. Do these hacks have nothing better to do than to make things up if there is no news..??

Do fellow toffees reckon there is any truth in this..? I am surprised that other teams haven't come in before for Cahill et al... well as far as we know they haven't!!

If this is just paper talk bat it away, but if they are genuine then I think it just might unsettle the Yak and who knows what could happen. The problem with Chelsea they can double a players wages without blinking and today football is money. I think it is just gossip but in football you never know

2 things. Chelsea would want him to cover Drogs for ANC. Problem 1 he is playing also. Also he has been registered for 2 teams Boro and Everton in 1 season and under Uefa rules couldn?t sign even if he wanted to until Summer. Paper talk, but why can?t the papers leave our players alone

For some reason there seems to be many twats in the media (BBC especially) who just cannot stomach the idea of a resurgent Everton. I put this rumour firmly in their domain. Everton are on their way back, like it or lump it - so try and unsettle us all you like you bunch of jumped up London based pricks

Football news sells papers (how many times have you read the back pages first ?) so if nothing is happening then the hacks just invent news. If you just look at all the ’exclusives’ over the last few years how many of the stories have been true. When the hacks do seem to get it right (like the speculation on Capello for England manager - after talking up Mourinho’s chance !!) they present it as a triumph yet all of the rumours that don’t happen are conveniently forgotten. If players don’t have the intelligence to ignore the gossip or are greedy for more money then some will move on.......

Totally agree with Richard and Anthony, these media pricks think they actually run football in this country, they get paid to write shite end of story.

Now Sky are saying Arteta to Valencia in January for £2.5million on Revista. Again the media trying to unsettle our players, I really thought people were been paranoid about the media but everything every season just leads to some sort of media bias against us!!

There is so much wrong with the Arteta to Valencia crap on Sky.
He just signed new 5 year contract, we all know contracts mean nothing but if anything they guarantee the going rate for your player which in this case has to be around 10million. He has stated many times he would like to play for Athletico one day but not now. Valencia are a complete shamble at the moment, havn?t scored in 6 games and lost last four, Koeman and his team are imploding with infighting(oh, Fernandes, bet you wish you could turn back the clock). Lastly, he seems to be loving his football and teamates at the moment. But.......you never know, could be personal reasons etc... i?ve learned never to be suprised!!

Right, just to let you know none of them are going anywhere! Cahill came into my dads mates box when he was injured and said that they had received so many offers for him and Arteta but turned them down because they think this club is going somewhere! Also Yakubu wouldn?t go for the money, he is realising that this place is special and so are the fans! The press need something else they aint doing their jobs! It is because we are the form team at the moment.

I will say though that Fernandes is getting sold in January and I am sure that Moyes will put an offer in of some sort. He said at the AGM that he was looking for a permanent centre midfielder!!

I was going to comment that perhaps Yakubu could go if he has a "if a big club comes in for me" clause in his contact. Then I remembered that Craig Bellamy tried something similar & Moyes told him where to go. Funny, I also remember Moyes?s handling of the Bellamy situation being criticised by many fans.

Sell Arteta and Yakubu for £25 millions each, give Moyes £20 millions to buy back quality and rebuild the Park End Extra Large for the remainder of the money - there might even be enough left to start working on Gwladys! ;-)

Seriously, who cares about the pundits rambling on? You know they never make sense. Couldn’t care less.

the press should be held accountable for what they write to cut out all this crap. Journalists should have to name their sources 100% of time when they write this stuff. If it was ?Yakabu to Chelsea for £15m according to some bloke who knows someone in ticket office at the shed end,? half this bollox would be treated with the the contempt it deserves. Make these lazy shit stirring prats accountable for what they write and you soon see the disappearance of these so-called rumours
