Faddy to stay

Fair enough I say, especially with the African Cup upcoming I wouldn't mind having such a dangerous player in the side. Maybe with Osman out we can get him some time in midfield, as I believe he is better farther from goal where he can unleash his devastating left-footed shots and/or crosses from space, as opposed to at centre-forward where he seems to get outmuscled & dispossessed all too often by opposing centre-backs.

With Anichebe, AJ & Vaughan all needing & deserving time on the pitch at CF, this may be our best option, as I don't think he warrants a place at striker at the expense of any of those three, especially as the spearhead of a 4-5-1.

Devastating left foot shots/crosses? Think you have been watching too many Scotland games :)

If we got a good offer, I’d take it. His worth has been inflated by some wonder goals for Scotland, and while he is certainly a much better player this year, I don’t see that he has much of a chance at a run ahead of Yak,AJ,Vic and effectively Timmy.

If we were offered 5 or 6, I think we should consider it seriously. We don’t have a sugar daddy, so turning profits in the transfer market is the best way to finance expansion.

Sell him.

Lets face it, he appears to be 4th or 5th choice striker and isnt very good at/doesnt like playing left wing, the only position we might need good cover for. Anything over 4 million and we should wish him well.

Translation of Wynessese: "He’s for sale. We don’t want him, can’t use him, but he’ll cost yer."

Aidan, I can only assume you must be talking 5 or 6 pence because that is about all he is worth !
I would be prepared to drive him, McFadden, to anybodys ground if they were prepared to give us the amount we wasted on him.
This may sound harsh but how many chances do you give somebody ? Moyes has given him chance on chance and every time he flatters to deceive.
He will never be a Premier League striker as long as he has a hole in his backside.
Just my opinion.

I’m sorry I just don’t rate McFadden & he’s had enough time to prove me wrong. I noticed that the latest official propaganda stated that they "don’t want to sell" rather than they won’t sell. He’ll go in January I reckon.

That’s just it though, he never gets a decent run of games anymore, he’s usually brought on as a sub one game, sits for the next, left off the bench the next, he’s often the 1st player brought off when he does start (Moyes likes to keep his strikers fresh as a general rule), we don’t put the faith in him that Scotland does so we don’t reap nearly the same performances from him. For me, if he can do it against France, he can do it against the Shite, ManUre, etc.
That said, I prefer AJ, Vaughan, & Anichebe to him all by a wide margin. We’re crying out for attack-minded midfielders, let the transformation begin.

I know he’s inconsistent and he can frustrate at times, but in his defense, he did score a wonder goal against Charlton last season without which we wouldn’t have had chance to go on this great European run and he also got that vital goal against Metalist earlier on in the campaign. Both of those goals and the fact that the ANC is coming mean that we should keep him at least til the end of the season IMO.

These wonder strikes are all well and good, but they do not make you a premiership footballer. There is an awful lot more to it. But if we can use them to add value to the asking price then it’s OK by me.

agree with the posts, mcfadden is not a premiership striker ,never will be, far to innefective and lightweight, he wouldn,t frighten any decent defender!! first good offer get rid, any profit would be good. its more important vaughny stays fit, he is class!
