Our football style is better since the derby debacle and we have been good value for our 11 wins and 2 draws (both from difficult away games) so we have built up a decent profile in the Premier and abroad but tomorrow starts the week that will put us in the spotlight.

We Evertonians have always had the gripe about the national media ignoring our club and here is the perfect chance to put them right ? together with all the doubters.

Three points from tomorrow's Old Trafford trip, a hatful of goals against a Bolton side that forgets any good habits it has when it travels away from the Reebok and then another win on Saturday against a decent Arsenal side that didn't look too clever at Newcastle or Middlesbrough will put us on the map ? big time !

Nine points by next Saturday evening and we will have 39 from 20 Premier games.

Do us proud ? again ? Blue Boys !

Happy Christmas to all Blues wherever you are out there !

Nine points from the next three would be an astonishing return and wouldn't that be just fantastic?! Interestingly, though, if we only pick up six we would only equal the number of points we had after three games fewer in 2004-05. This time three years ago we were 2nd on 36 points from 17 games!

If I were a Kopite, I would be going into this weekend thinking about what effect the Everton Man United game will have on Liverpool, my guess (and I cannot speak for kopites as I have no idea how that sub species of human think and I am not exactly fluent in Norwegian)they will be having mixed emotions.

So here is an a ttempt to think like them.

Scenario 1
Everton beat Man United: Gives Liverpool breathing space, they beat Pompey and close the gap. However it proves that Everton are not a flash in the pan, they are on the same points as Liverpool, moreover, the whole team cost about the same as Fernando Torres left leg, they will be competing for a CL place and that really puts the pressure on Liverpool, not a good result.

Scenario 2
Man united win, Ha, ha Everton, it?s all very well beating lower level teams but you cannot beat a top four contender. But hang on a minute that means Man United are now even further ahead if we don?t beat Pompey and even if we do then we are no closer, uhm not a good result.

Scenario 3
A draw, Good result, Liverpool beat Pompey and close the gap. Hang on a minute that means Everton go fourteen games unbeaten and moreover get a draw at Old Trafford, we have to take them serious they are only two points behind us and have already visited Stamford Bridge and Old Trafford, moreover, the whole team cost about the same as Fernando Torres left leg, they will be competing for a CL place and that really puts the pressure on Liverpool.

Notice no allowance has been made for Liverpool to lose as I have yet to meet a koppite who thinks any different from Mark Lawrenson in his BBC predictions
