Moaning gits......

Comments (10)

Many thanks to the gentleman sat in seat 256 row H, Upper Bullens at today's game. His general moaning, particularly against Gravesen, and insistence on providing a running commentary on the game totally spoilt my enjoyment this afternoon!

On days like this, the idea of standing on the terraces, which would enable you to escape the ramblings of such numbskulls, becomes far more attractive!

ps: Jagielka was awesome today. We have found our successor to Alan Stubbs...

For the first 20 minutes Gravesen deserved every bit of criticism as he was awful. After that he grew in confidence and put in a good display. Some of his passing and inter play with Arteta was brilliant and he dictated alot of our attacking moves.

He defo not finished as some people would tell you just needs games. He not the headless chicken he used to be and he looked a lot more mobile than he did against AZ Alkmaar. A good replacement while Osman is injured.

Tommy’s missing legs have been found, and 20 minutes in start to work as they should. About half way throught he season when we really need them. And the Jag is coming very good half way through. As he should. What a luxury that he will have to fight for his place when the left backs are fit and available.

Clubs that buy "ready mades" for five times the price don’t always get this from their players. OK, I’d like a few more of this quality, but we know that Moyes is no sprinter, he’s a marathon man.

Absolutely brilliant, Peter Eastoe. Wish I had thought of it!

Grav is now a squad player. He’ll do a decent job filling in for either Ossie or Art as our fixtures continue to pile on. I was in Alkmaar and he struggled, which surprised me as i expected him to cope better with the slightly slower European games. That said, the AZ match felt more like a Premiership match at times; it was frenetic.

As for Jag, he looks better as games go on. Definitely stronger at Centre Half.

The best thing about all of these discussions is that we’re talking about guys who are part of the squad, fighting for places and having to put in top class performances each week. What a pleasure that is to see.

Grav wouldn’t have to worry about his legs if he had more positional sense. It’s very unusual for an International of his age to have this need in his development. Strachan got rid of him because he didn’t, wouldn’t or couldn’t follow team instructions.
Too often early on yesterday, he ’left his post’ was caught ’twixt & between’, chasing shadows and of course he’s not a great tackler. You might argue that he hasn’t had games but he trains most days with the players.
The irony is that this weakness is also his strength when he has the ball. As he manoeuvres around the pitch like a hovermower, leaving gaps behind him he carries an aura of unpredictability due to his balance, touch, ability to draw a tackle & slip a pass.
Would you use him against Arsenal? On the one hand he can attract the ball and take tons of responsibility but on the other will he work effectively enough for the team in what is sure to be a high tempo encounter?

Peter, laugh of the day!

And Nick, couldn’t agree more. Tommy isn’t the player he was when he left, but we got Mik for his Real M price. Fair’s fair I say! Just good to have him back. I read a post here today where one of us mentioned he gave the Cap a scolding yesterday, telling him to keep it on the ground. Then Pip floated one in!

We gotta love that fist-waving madman. He’s worth the million just for comedy value.

And how about Jags?!! Awesome display. Definitely MoM. Didn’t step wrong as far as I saw...

Alan,

Yes, definitely would use him on Saturday. Same XI for the next match and I can promise you three more points. We’re going to do it, and further, we’ll finish fourth this term.

Full of confidence today, me!
