Dan Gosling

Looks like we are wrapping up a very good signing, keeping with Moyes's stragegy of buying bright young players and building for the future at Everton.
For me personally I am excited by the fact we are going to be signing a RB that is capable attacking with the ball, rather than someone like Hibbert who is strong defensive, but that's about it.
Although employed on the right flank by Plymouth this season, Gosling prefers to play at right-back and Moyes believes that is the youngster?s best position. With Gosling and Baines we will have two great young English fullbacks!
Along with Lescott, Yobo and Jags we have a great young defensive unit.

Gosling is very highly rated and a future England RB.
Sorry I forgot you are not allowed to make postive comments on this site.

But in the same breath it is worth noting that Gosling is one of the most highly rated youngsters outside the Premiership, and so hopes (as opposed to expectations) are high.
Let us not forget that Gareth Bale (another 17 yr old full-back with only a few Championship app’s) made an immediate impact before his recent injury problems at Spurs.
Although, in saying that, we’re not expected to be paying £10mill for Gosling!

The Echo says he is one for the future, we already have 3 right backs.
We need midfield reinforcements and if Vogel is a free agent why isnt he signed up if we want him, obviously we do not.

I can only think of Neville and Hibbert
Jags is a CB if you were thinking of him.

Johann Vogel has left Real Betis by mutual agreement after enduring an unhappy year in Spain.
The Swiss international arrived at the Manuel Ruiz de Lopera from Milan as part of the deal which saw Ricardo Oliveira go in the other direction.
However, he had not made a first-team appearance this season and was in the process of suing the club over unpaid fees owed to him.
The midfielder has failed to hold down regular football since leaving PSV Eindhoven in 2005 and will now be hoping to get his career back on track.
Everton were reported to be interested in Vogel over the summer and may be set to make another approach for the player now that he has become available.

It’s disgusting...
We should retire all our players at 25! Like Logan’s run...

My first choice back four is
Neville Yobo Lescott Baines
Jags ahead of Stubbs as replacement centre back.
I think Moyes would juggle his defence around before Gosling got a game.

Are we going to have do with Gosling and maybe Brian Howard of Barnsley with Da Silva going in part ex.

I think you are a bit over the top, Chelsea are not looking to develop players, the are looking for players who can make an instant impact in their ttle race, wherever DM is good at developing young players.
Maybe he will be ready next 2-3 years and the players Micahel mentioned were snapped for next to nothing with small amount up front and apperance based add-onns if they cant make the grade we allways can ship them outh in the lowere divisions

If young Dan is as good as they say, he will have had many others sniffing around him. Let’s hope he’s decided to come go for the club he thinks is most likely to look after his future. If Vogel is going north east it will be for his pension fund. Moyes is in the strongest position he’s probably ever been in, and I don’t think he’s going to screw it up.

To be honest Vogel would only ever be a stop gap as he is wrong side of thirty and DM does seem to get best out of early to mid 20s players.

The lad may turn out to be an instant star, and that would be brilliant, but let's not build him up quite so much just yet, please!
