Gosling

Comments (13)

Just a quick question; Does anyone have an update on Gosling?

I know its not headline stuff but he looks a real prospect and if he as good as he seems, maybe will have rid of Hibbo (I hate knocking the lad, he's clearly all heart and dedication, love him to bits but basically he's rubbish and we need more RB cover for when davey opts to use our most skillful flare player (PN haha!) in the middle.)

The current Everton policy is to remain tight-lipped until the deal is done. This requires you to wait patiently for the Ofiicial Announcement...

I still think Hibbert is one of the best defenders we have. Crap going forward but defensively sound.

I like how the club stays quiet until the deal is done. Nothing worse then getting exciting over a new player and then watching him sign for another club.

To be honest I wish we didn’t know what we already do concerning Gosling. I would prefer to be kept completely in the dark and then have the club just annouch the signing as completed.

Hibbert is very poor, Dutch you say he is one of our best defenders and I will admit he can put a good challange in, but he drifts out of position too much, lacks pace and is awful going forward.

Gosling is a much better player to have backing Neville up.

Also Dutch, I read you slagging Yakubu off for his performance and lack of goals vs Oldham, may I point out he was actually on the bench and did not come on till 63 mins.

Yeah Phi Neville is not a world class RB, but he has done ok for us, certainly much better at RB then CM.

I am happy to see Neville there this season and bring Gosling through slowly.

He is one of the highest regarded players outside the prem, Chelsea had been linked to him also.

He is also a RB that can get forward (he has been playing Right Midfield for Plymouth)

Stuart Mitchell, have you ever watched this Dan Gosling? As far as I can tell he?s a kid whose played just over a dozen games for Championship side Plymouth.

Sure it sounds like he has potential to develop into a good player and Moyes clearly rates him but why would you say he?s better then Hibbert?

Does a dozen games in the Championship make him better then Hibbert who has played over 100 times in the Premiership and has European experience?

Given time and Moyes coaching Gosling may develop into a better player but at present its Hibbert who is the better player to fight with Neville for a first team place.

Yes I watched him playing for the England U17?s in last years european championship in Belgium.

He looks class if you want my humble opinion!

Stuart Mitchell a lot of players play for England U17 and then disappear. Do you remember Peter Clarke?

Hopefully Gosling will turn out to be a gem but let's give him time to develop and let's give Hibbert the respect he deserves because he?s clearly better then a kid who has played a dozen times in the Championship.

Dutch I cannot discuss this subject with someone that wants to sell Yakubu after he banged 11 goals in already.

I just do not want Hibbert in the team, simple as that!

I dont want to sell Yakubu. I want him to score 20 goals this season, repeat it next season and the season after that.

I dont want Everton to become another club where Yakubu starts off scoring freely and then loses interest.

I dont think thats being unreasonable considering he cost £11 million.

If Yakubu can continue to score goals regulary for the next three seasons and doesn’t lose interest like he did at Pompey and Boro, then I will gladly admit Moyes was right and I was wrong.

Whats with you Dutch.
Yesterday we had a thread on Manny and you turned it into a slagging off of the Yak. Today we have one on Gosling and there you are back on the Yak. again. Leave it alone he may have cost 11 mill. but has only played half a season and scored 11 goals. If you can find someone that will guarantee you twenty goals a year let us all know and I will have a whip round. So please Dutch next time there is a topic don?t turn it around and use it to get at the Yak. what has he done that you have to keep on about him.

Don’t you guys realise by now that Dutch just like to play the contrarian game?

When we were all excited about Yak’s signing, he came on here and said he’s crap. When we were all criticising Moyes, he came and said he’s the best thing in the world.

I notice that on many threads as well. I am not saying he’s right or wrong, just that he likes to do that, for some reason.

Sorry to go off topic.

Daniel.

Thanks for putting things in perspective, time now to put this to bed.

Just waiting to see if this Manny thing is true.

This is unfair on Dutch. Yes, he went on one the other day but it was Stuart who started it an brought the Yak up on this thread and Dutch was forced to repeat what he had already said.
