Twisted Firestarters

Comments (24)

What is it that makes those posters write the "Downing/Fernandes/Lord Lucan/Shergar/Riquelme to sign on Monday, say no more, nudge nudge, wink wink" emails and post them on the various blues sites?....Are they like the people who start fires in America and Greece, and then like to stand back and admire the chaos and disaster they cause?

A bit of a harsh analogy, but I just wondered what motivates these mystery posters to spread these rumours. I know we are all desperate to hear who Everton are going to sign next, and compared to many clubs, we don't appear in the gossip columns as much but even so......anyone have any insights into this phenomenon?

Everton are in the gym across the road from my office - just seen Arteta & Jagielka going in. Someone I work with says he saw Arteta, and some guy with dreadlocks in there about 10 minutes ago. Who do we have with dreads other than Pienaar? Not Manny surely? I showed him Manny on the internet and he says he?s not sure. The twat.

PS This isnt a wind-up.

Every photo I’ve ever seen of him, apart from the ones when he was younger, he still has dreads.

I’ve been over to the gym (Virgin Active in Kensington if anyones interested) and I didnt see Manny. Someone I work with asked the Everton fitness coach where the players were and he said some of them are coming back in a while. I’ll keep you posted.

You all seem to be getting confused!

Pienaar has ?corn rows? not dreads (see definitions below - thanks wiki)

Cornrows are a traditional style of hair grooming of African origin where the hair is tightly braided very close to the scalp, using an underhand, upward motion to produce a continuous, raised row. Cornrows can be formed, as the name implies, in simple, straight lines; or, in complicated geometric or curvilinear designs.

Dreadlocks, sometimes simply called locks or dreads, are matted ropes of hair which tend to form by themselves, in some hair types, if the hair is allowed to grow naturally without the use of brushes, combs, razors, or scissors for a long period of time

Just also seen this re cornrows - explains why Yak, Vic and Yobo don?t have a ?do?!

People of African ancestry in many different regions of the world wear cornrows. However, some controversy over them has emerged in Nigeria, where hair braiding among men is alleged to be a sign of femininity or homosexuality.[1]

Yeah but Amanda, the blokw I work with who stated there was ’some bloke with dreads’ is a Cambridge graduate who thinks that everyone is ’street’

He knows not what he speaks of.

Alan, surely there’s a football fan working at the gym who’ll know if it was our illusive Manny or not?

Get over there lad and get interogating!

I’ve been over Sean, there was only the EFC fitness coach, curly haired fella with bulging biceps.

I’ve been keeping an eye out, I can see the entrance from where I’m sitting. No sign of anyone at the moment.

Fernandes has been told he can’t leave spain by the police until this business in the nightclub in Valencia is sorted. Would be a bit risky nipping over for a work out in the UK wouldn’t it?

Correct me but didn’t our communications office a certain Ian Ross make a statement about Manny, also the mirror and Observer carried the story. Vogal was linked with us in the summer and seeing he is a free agent, if he was good enough in August, why isn’t he good enough in January?

The media Diarra could go for around 2-3 million. He is young, athletic, versatile, plays defensive midfield but can play ball and drive a team forward. Perfect for us, but of the clubs linked to him we are not one. I thnk he would be a brilliant signing.

According to those definitions hasn’t Manny got cornrows as well then?

Only Jason Lee had real dreads, maybe it was him with Arteta?

Yes but has he got dreadlocks?
Allan Hobbs

Ruud Gullit had dreadlocks, Pienaar has cornrows.
