“Official ” squad for City

Comments (8)

The Official Site has the following squad for tomorrow's game with City:

Everton from: Howard, Wessels, Hibbert, Neville, Jagielka, Stubbs, Lescott, Valente, Baines, Carsley, Arteta, McFadden, Gravesen, Vaughan, Anichebe, Johnson.

Hoping Neville plays right back, that leaves us with a choice of 6 from 7 players to play in front of the defence! Is the Official Site just inept? The squad is declared in an article that says Fernandes may play a part and where's Timmy?

Would put money on:

Howard
Hibbert, Lescott, Jagielka, Baines
Arteta, cahill, Carsley. Neville, McFadden
AJ

4-5-1 with the ineffectual centre pairing of carsley and neville.

I’m sure Neville was struggling on Tuesday after the Mikel Obi tacke and even remember Cahill signalling on a number of occasions to the bench. Neville also seemed to push Hibbert forward of him as he couldnt get forward - so my team tomorrow is:-
Howard
Hibbert Jags Lescott Valente
Arteta Carsley Gravesen Mc Fadden
Cahill
Johnson

Hope to hell that Gravesen and McFadden turn up.

Reading the letter and comments on here about the Capital of Culture and how we are totally ignored by the TV doesn't suprise me really. The BBC are the biggest culprits from what I have seen on various news (northwest) reports today, but let's not forget they are not the people's channel, that accolade has always gone to ITV.

The BEEB is the politicaly correct channel which still drags out non-entities such as Last Night at the Proms, the Eurovision song contest and subjects us to Songs of Praise and the Antiques Roadshow at prime time every sunday. It is not a football thing this Capital of Culture but because the mighty reds fit in with their stuck-in-the-old-days regime they are a good pull for the dinosaurs that are the Beeb.
