Interesting to see that Matt Le Tissier was pretty complimentary about our control of the game today, even when City were on top possession-wise. It's clear, however, how difficult it is to be in the know about all Premier League teams, when he went on to say this about Mikky:

"Every single chance that Everton create comes from him. His dead-ball delivery is fantastic and it was his cross which set up Lescott's goal."

Wrong ? a common misconception which has changed since Pienaar's arrival. I believe they are now level on assists after Arteta's today

and.. On the Chelsea game, it's surprising how different a view regular game-goers have of proceedings compared to sometime TV viewers like myself. I live in London now and barely ever get to see the boys live. Went to Chelsea (and had to sit with the West London scumbags) and thought we were abysmal first half, we seem to have been instructed to not leave our half. After the game though, it was good to chat to some proper Scousers (not often enough) and regular game-goers who had better perspective than me.

On the site itself, great job guys, so good in fact that I can never concentrate on revision for my finals! Wish me luck

Chris, I’m perfectly happy for these misconceptions to be propogated by shows like this, long may it continue as it can only be to our advantage!

Alan McInally said on Gillette Soccer Saturday a few weekends ago that Gravesen was a ’massive’ player for Everton when any twat with a modicum of knowledge would know that he was on the fringes of the team this season and not the player he was two seasons ago - I nearly spat out my shreddies when I heard that comment!

Just like with the media, they seem to look for excuses why Everton are doing so well. Has anyone told them about teamwork?

I was about to mention the same thing Anthony. I like how Charlie Nicholas still isn’t convinced Yakubu and Johnson will work as a partnership as well.

Does that really matter when we play 4-5-1 most of the time? Same old media.

Just out of intrest, did Moyes use McFadden as a forward in 4-4-2, or a winger in 4-5-1?

The media gravy train feeds on itself - most of them know fuck all, including ex-pros who should know something.

The BBC made a great leap forward for them. Our game against MC was mentioned as a clash between clubs looking for a CL place. And Gary on MoTD just about got his comment in about our winner - "A striker’s goal" he said, and he was right.

Speaking of which, I hope Shearer gets the Newky job - if he makes as good a manager as he is a tv commentator, this guarantees a lowly status for this "great club" (according to ... ?)

I don?t think Alan Shearer makes too bad a job with his comments and he?s been very complimentary about "The Blues" this season. He?ll be a fool to go to ?Newky? though.

I’m happy enough laugh at pundits who clearly don’t know anything because I think Everton can do without the hype.

I’m very Happy that Pienaar has so far been unnoticed by the media, for the sooner he is, the sooner we’ll have bollox about bids from west ham all season.

It irks me though when I hear people parrot the idea that Everton are just a physical side who use pressure tactics and long ball to nick 1-0 victories. Its a traditional post loss snipe from managers who lose against us and the media are only too happy to repeat it without regard for the fact that (pre-xmas anyway) Everton were passing the ball into the net week in week out and making many clubs look distinctly foolish.

Alex, i was at the game and it seemed that Faddy was used from the left with Cahill tucked in behind Anichebe in a 4-4-1-1 formation, which became 4-1-4-1 or 4-3-3 depending on possession (ie Cars sat back in front of the back 4 under pressure or Cahill pushed forward and McFadden moved further forwards and inside when we attacked. Sadly it was one of those days when Faddy ran down too many blind alleys or took that elusive extra touch. And for someone usually so good as passing and crossing Valente was appauling. All the more strange for City to focus a lot of their attacks down the left flank where Hibbo was playing a blinder!

I also get frustrated by the physical approach all managers seem to bang on about in relation to us. At least we all know that’s rubbish.

For anybody in any doubt about the drivel written by some of the London based ’journalists’ and thinly veiled digs at our upturn in fortunes have a look at this:

Paragraph 5, end of line 3
Unless I’ve had a sense of humour bypass, wtf is this guy trying to say?
That Chelsea fan’s article is still fresh in my mind wrt allowing us to cede the tie after the first leg - It would be a crime for that NOT to go on the dressing room wall prior to the second leg

Les - Shearer was crap at that tv job when he started, but credit where its due, he has improved. I think his justifiably positive comments for us have come when there was no other possible explanation.

Next test - is he clever enough to say no until the time is right?

Bloody typical - in MOTD2?s selection of great volleys, Sharp?s at Anfield completely omitted - cunts
