Kirkby Sustainability?

Comments (4)

As the stadium debate rages, I began to wonder how sustainable the new ground will be. Tesco have some ineffective wind turbines dotted aorund the nation but they are nothing more than show-pieces. As the new ground will be intended to last well in to the future ( I hope) surely the club will be taking measures to save energy, fuel, water. I make this point because if fuel prices rise which they will then surely this will be re-cooped by raising ticket costs for the supporters?

A cautious approach at the planning stage could save the club a lot of money and perhaps keep ticket prices down.

It would save us all a lot of energy if they just binned the whole idea. It’ll go belly up soon anway.

Ticket prices will rise anyway as they have done for some time now, be it rising fuel costs, rising player wages or just because Everton feel like raising the ticket prices! Anyhow, I think there are rules in place now where any new structure has be energy efficient!

Hahahaha I love the way most no voters still think that a confirmed and finalised move to kirkby isn?t going to happen because a minority don?t want it to.

Ticket prices will obviously rise but I?ll be able to live with that when I?m sitting on a brand new seat watching a hopefully top 4 side from a non obstructed view (lets just hope the bloody parking doesn?t go up too! its already about £8 I think?

Just to clarify that I’m not a no voter. I didn’t qualify for a vote but if I had I’d probably have been in favour of moving. I just sincerely believe that when the cost rises, as it will, and the credit crunch starts to bite, the club will decide against it, similarly to King’s Dock. We clearly have no money for players so where are we going to find £130m for a stadium. Anyway, although the intention to move is confirmed the planning application hasn’t yet been decided. The energy I’d like to see saved is all the hot air being expended by fans on both sides of the so-called debate.
