Goodison better than Anfield

Comments (4)

In this morning's Metro, Arsene Wenger has paid tribute to Everton fans recognizing what all blues have known for years; we are better than them. He goes on to say

?Liverpool is the same kind of support but Everton is a bit more aggressive, over last two years it has been one of the noisiest grounds in the country and has a great atmosphere, Liverpool is more genteel.

Let?s put this in perspective: good PR in the London press, from one of the most respected managers in football. Recognizing that Everton fans are far superior to Liverpool?s we may have known this for years but finally, finally some much deserved recognition for our efforts.

Onwards and upwards blues.

I’m surprised that the official EFC website also posted the same story..........perhaps they are trying to make the point that its the Everton fans and not the ground that makes the atmosphere?

Although I think Arsene Wenger is one of football?s better Managers, I really don?t take too much notice of what he says... perhaps he is just trying to wind LFC up before their forthcoming match. After all this is the guy who stirredup the hornet?s nest by saying Andy Johnson dived along with the Special One. Case of the pot calling the kettle black when you think of Fabregas? antics with our Special One [ Arteta].

Don?t get me wrong, I do think we have great supporters and it was terrific to hear them get behind the team at last Saturday?s game but there was a time when you could stand in Stanley Park Car Park and hear the roof come off - to me standing there nowadays it seems much quieter...

I’m with Patty. Maybe we are, maybe we’re not but either way its mind games of the top 4... take no notice, no need to get involved.
Besides, why do we need Wenger to feel good about ourselves?

I we’d of beat arsenal few weeks ago at goodison, which we should of if not for a few very bad errors, then we would currently be in the top 4 and Wenger would have said were a better team, more skillfull, pass it around more etc which we actually shown that night instead of the crown noise comments.......personally I think with fernandes back, and the yak, peanuts, yobo, lescott, arteta, cahill, osman, carsley, baines, howard we are a better team with a better team spirit. Take gerrard and torres out of there team and there isnt really anyone else who stands out as a consistant top quality player for me.....If we ever needed to secure 4th place to send a sign out to the rest of the prem its this year when we’re actually playing like a top 4 team.
