Gosling to get a game?

Comments (11)

Whats your thoughts on Dan Gosling getting a run out this season? We have paid a million rising to 2 million, which represents a good deal. I have been fortunate enough to see him play, he has good pace, likes to attack, and for his age sound on the ball. I know he's a pup, but because we have paid a fee I'm sure David Moyes would like to get a look at him, maybe from the bench over the next few months.

It always excites me when young talent is brought on, could he be an answer to the defensive midfield position, or am I getting carried away, he has played at Championship level and would have experienced some of the robust strikers in the division, he may find he can express himself more in a faster flowing match What are your thoughts?

I dont think you will see him play this season, to many big games comming up, no more dead rubbers. So I think Moyes will stick to his key players and experienced ones. I think you will see him play in pre season though.

Mick is probably right, unless Gosling is really that good and shows it in training then he will probs be a reserve for now!

I think Gosling wont appear in a first team shirt until a pre-season friendly unless we suffer a major injury crisis.
He is one for next season

Why put the pressure on the lad so soon? Give him the rest of the season to settle in

True, i agree with Roy on this one, didn’t DM say he’ll be straight into the reserves with no chance of him playing. He sounds really excited about coming though. Fingers crossed he’s one for the future!

Although i’d like to take a gander at Gosling, i think we will be fine letting him develop for a little while, hopefully he won’t turn out to be a goose.

I’m also pretty certain that Moyes has brought him as a right back.

Dont think we’ll see him this season, barring injuries/suspensions of course!

2m! I actually think that this is quite a lot of money for a reserve. DM must really think that he has potential.

Look at the likes of Spencer, Vidarson etc. Expensive young imports and don’t look like they are going to make it.

Hasnt Spencer already left the club, I think he joined Yeovil with a view to a permanent transfer, many of these lads dont make it, Justiewicz is on loan to Plymouth to get some games because the Reserve League doesnt bring the best out of players its not like it used to be.
Boyle must not have what it takes as Plymouth are taking him on trial with a view to a deal, if he is only on trial then he cant be all that good.
Viddarsson has been here for years now and has only played in a friendly and came on late v AZ Alkmaar.
Kissock, Agard, Rodwell perhaps one will make the breakthrough soon, Rodwell seems favourite to do so.

I hope he justifies the big fee and lives up to his potential, definitely one for the future. My only reservation is the fact that as an Evertonian living in Plymouth my son saw him out in nightclubs over the Christmas period and he told me he was always inebriated, not good for a 17 year old. Maybe he thinks he has made it already.

Here we are just les than 2 weeks to go to the transfer shutdown. And Faddy is almost certainly gone.

I’m sure that Moyes would blood Gosling towards the end of the season with things going well. If he can’t get who he wants to replace Faddy in the next two weeks then the lad will be promoted up the bench.
