The following statistic on the BBC is a great testimony to our current team and manager:

"Everton have used the joint fewest players in the Premier League matches this term; 21, as have Blackburn and Aston Villa. But own the joint longest goalscorers list with Tottenham of 13."

Let's beat those pie-eating Wiganers!

Agreed 100% Dan!

COYB!!

Re: Chelsea....whilst I hope SWP isn’t seriously hurt...if he’s a doubt for Wednesday that can only help our cause! I know they have plenty of players who can score but injury wise and ANC wise, this is the time to play them! We’re missing players too but with the addition of Fernandes and our tighter more compact team I really do feel we can do it.........

COYB!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Leon Osman is back too. That’s great news for today and also looking ahead to Wednesday as he is a player who can pop up with a goal whilst Chelsea are busy worrying about AJ, Cahill, Arteta and (set pieces) Lescott.

The pitch does not help, but we are too deep, there is too much of a gap between AJ and the midfield, Cahill too deep.

We need to get a grip and keep possession and frustrate them and then we can take advantage, but Wigan are better at the moment!

And the fewest yellow cards for dissent - zero. Tnank you DM.

And I didn’t see it, but they say that Mikel got a yellow today for taking a free kick too early - is that possible?

Job done - three points away on a boggy pitch. 4th. Next stop third !

And Salam to the new owners across the park - The Shite of Araby.

Keith,

Yes, Arteta was booked for taking a free kick too early, and I (along with everyone else watching the game in Walkabout in Lancaster) have no idea why it was deemd to be a bookable offence. About ten minutes later, Arteta was clattered into cynically by Denny Lanzaat, Landzaat wasn’t booked. And then, in the second half, a Wigan player was booked for a foul on Arteta which wasn’t nearly as bad. Hibert’s booking was justified though.
