Sean Davis?

Surely not? A backward step to the old days of buying players who are average at best. He will not improve our squad, he will simply add a body, I would much rather we gave Vidarrsson a proper go in midfield rather than spending money on players who can't get into other premiership teams.
I know Moyes has a history of being like a dog with a bone when it comes to players he has selected as a target, but surely he keeps track of them in the intervening years...

Vidarsson is out on loan for the rest of the season, if I’m correct...

If we signed every player some newspaper suggested we would have a squad of about 90 players. I think that there will be somebody else to come in by the end of the month, but I think it will be a sneaky one.

Yeah were definatly after him and as a replacement for Arteta who’s come out and stated his desire to play for Athelitco Madrid.
Obviously i’m not being serious, just merely pointing out extreme lazy journalism.
No matter how many times Arteta says he said that about Madrid when he was much younger and b4 he signed for us the lazy rags just keep dragging it up as a ’new story’. I think it will be the same with Davis.

Sean Davis is an good player who would provide cover/competition for Carsley. He can dictate midfield as his passing is much better than Carsley's. For £2-3 mil he?s a snip and well worth the investement.

He seems to be very injury prone and seems to go out of favour or fail at every club he plays for. Although he could be good squad player and cover for carsley.

With money at a premium Moyes isn’t going to waste his money on an injury probe player who is only good for cover... he’ll save the money and use it to buy someone who will improve the 1st team, not the squad. Moyes is as tight as they come when money is involved... I just can’t see us buying him in a million years. A few years ago he would have improved our team... we’ve moved on and improved so much since then, its a no go in my eyes

Seem to remember Howard Kendall buying an injury prone Peter Reid in the early 80?s, turned out to be a good bit of business. I?m not saying that is the case with Davis, or that we?re even in for him, it?s just that you never can tell in football. As for the comments about him not getting a start for Pompey, wasn?t Piennar bench warming most of last season?

Moyes has been after Davies for years, he is a useful player better than Vogel and cheaper than Sidwell. I would prefer to see him in midfield to Neville or Jagielka.
I read Sidwell is on 80k a week which is unbelievable for a non international English player.
