Doing Doubles

Comments (5)

Never in my Everton supporting life have I seen the team complete so many "doubles" over people. Not even in the season we finished fourth (although stats may prove me wrong).

We have beaten Wigan, Bolton, Boro this season and we have done the hard part against Pompey and West Ham (getting results away).

This I feel could be a decisive factor in where we finish the season as it proves we are better than these teams and we are not just "lucky".

Hi, Dave

We’ll struggle to do the double over Pompey I’m afraid, the away game was a 0-0 draw. Agree though, nice to see some doubles going up!

Also just a home win away from doing the double over Spurs

Be nice to beat Chelsea just once this season. Moyes has never beaten Chelsea and it would be so perfect for his first win over them to take us to Wembley.

’it proves we are better than these teams and we are not just "lucky". ’

It proves nothing of the kind. It just means on the two days in question we scored more goals than them. Doing the double is good because it means we don’t drop any points in those games.
On your reasoning, if we lose at Anfield this will show that they are better than us and not just lucky.

When you use the word ’lucky’ I can almost hear a little shit like Curbishley saying "they was lucky today", and not just about us. But I agree, when you’ve lost twice to us, you start to think "who are these guys?".

Its starting to get through to the media. Because they now have to take notice of us, they have to think of something to say. The better ones know what’s going on here, the rest (most of them) haven’t got a clue.
