The Person Next To You

Comments (24)

I'd just like to urge every Evertonian lucky enough to be going the game on Wednesday to make a difference.

Shout yourself hoarse and roar the team on to Wembley and encourage the person next to you to do the same.

You can be that mythical "12th man" .Just ask Andy Gray or Graham Sharp... you are not just spectators. Play your part!

I sure will - and if there is a silent person nearby then I’ll just show them a copy of ’that’ article that I’ve printed out an will bring along - that will get them going!

I would play the second half of the Bayern Munich game in the dressing room and show the goals just before the game to the crowd, so the fans can see what Goodison Park can do on a big night under the floodies. I agree we can be that 12th man, the players must be patiant though, Chelsea have been here before and know what to expect, so dont panic lads, good shape and no jumping in. We can do it.

The Bayern game was the first at which I lost my voice. Frankly, the whole game seemed to be dictated by us the fans, rather than the players on either side. The fast and furious pace came from our orchestrating it. I was 15; what a night! A bloody crime that we have waited this long for another decent European run. Thanks to the lads, the boss, and over to yous, who are going to the game.

Good shout, but I think anyone silent next to you will be dead.

Gently move their eyelids closed, and inform the authorities immediately the game ends.

Well I never felt more like singing the blues.

I really will have to pen the rest of the words to that sometime, I started it off nearly 4 years ago now.

COYB ,people like me and dave barks,l iving abroad like we do can?t be there on the night, but for all of those going ?Sing your hearts out boys. I will be from India, I hope you will hear me cos i will be the loudest person in India tomorrow. Even though its ONLY the Carling Cup, just to be in a final again (where we belong) would be fantastic. By the way, did I tell you that quite a few indians(who love cricket) now know the meaning of Everton FC? I am spreading the word, its not a team ? it's a way of life!

My son and I are season ticket holders for the main stand, and my eldest son, who works away from Liverpool, joins us whenever he is home and we can get a ticket. We have a fantastic view, but....We sing and shout our lungs out during games, and it?s like being in a morgue with the people who surround us. (We call it "the terracotta army stand".) We were at West Ham. We were at Chelsea. It took two days for our voices to recover after each game. So, (like I did many years ago for the Bayern game) for tomorrow, we?re in the Lower Glwady. I hope my voice won?t recover by the weekend! This is IT, Lads. Let?s raise the roof of the "Old Lady" Let THAT SOUND crackle ALL AROUND the ground like it does when Goodison is really on fire. Not a concentrated "Kop" noise from one direction. More of a "blanket" of sound. CUM AAAAAARN!

Anyone in the LGS second row from the front, family enclosure side, who is’nt shouting and singing their support will get a few dirty looks from a middle aged woman who’s steely stare can cut through cast iron. So beware lada and lasses - make yourself heard or incur the wrath of Lue!

I start my own songs off / follow the chants from my season ticket spec in the Top Balcony (C, 67) and people usually join in. I didn’t think I could make ithe match but - due to a change in work plans and an ad on the Toffeeweb bulletin board - I managed to get a ticket but will be in a different spec in the Upper Bullens tomorrow. I’ll sing / shout my head off. COYB.

Will it be a coincidence that on Dixie's 101st Anniversary, Everton themselves will score their 60th goal of the season..........League 40 + UEFA 13 + CC 6 = 59 goals....the goal that gets them to the final COYB

Spurs fans were fantastic tonight, got my hairs standing on end just listening to the noise over the radio. (Shame it was being shouted over by David Pleat).

We can do even better tomorrow night and set up a classic Wembley final against Tottenham - a team against whom we have a fantastic recent record. COYB!!!

Season ticket holder in the Gwladys street next to a manic depressive. The guy is literally silent when its 0-0 then tells everyone when we are losing that he knew it was coming we should be relegated and then when we’re winning the guy goes into overdrive and almost has a heart attack screaming at the players for making a mistake...

Thankfully the pathetic Chelsea fans sent back a load of tickets and I found a bit of money lying around in my Credit Card so tomorrow I’ll be watching from the Lower Bullens! Lets show even those Spurs fans the glory that is Everton! COYBB!!!

Spurs fans were brilliant from the off tonite and theyre team followed suit - We need to be the same tomorrow, make the team believe, pressure the ref into giving decisions, intimidate Chelsea. We all need to play our part Come on blue boys!!
