Just browsing a few websites for information before I leave for tonights game and I can't believe this article on Teamtalk.

Obiously Mr Grant has never studied his history of the "English game" because jf he did he would realise that his club are "jonny come latelys" whose recent achievements are down to a Russian sugerdaddy.

Please Davie, post this article on the dressing room door tonight along with the article posted by some moron on the Chelsea website after the first leg.

Just read Avrams Grant's comments ahead of tonight's game. I must say that not only does this prick show a lack of class he also shows a lack of understanding and knowledge. He says...

"This is the reason why I understand Everton. We were a very small club (referring to Hapoel Petah Tikva winning the Israeli League Cup in 1991). We didn't have a budget even for the tea. We took on the best team in Israel, who were Beitar Tel Aviv, and we were very happy. This is the reason I understand a team like Everton who are not used to taking trophies. Even not major trophies are important to you" ? What a clown!

Now, due to me living in Jersey and not being able to get a ticket, I wont be at the game tonight. Does us a favour lads, all those who are going show this knobhead what a team and what fans we are! Shut the prick up once and for all! Maybe another 500 million and forty years down the line he may have a chance of being as big as us! An if yer know yer history!

Fuck them, they couldn?t even sell their ticket allocation. My arse as gone, cant believe how fucking nervous I am, 45 years of age and shaking like a baby. I will be in the Brick at 1 minute past 5 to calm the nerves, a large one barman. Why would he say such crap? If he understands what it is to be a small team (EFC are not a small team but if he means underdog) then surely he understands that statements like that will only have a positive effect on our team and our fans. The guy?s an idiot.

Let?s hope we can do what Spurs did and upset the record books by getting to the final. Spurs vs EFC would be a great final, for once two teams who really want the trophy.

I am so jealous of all the Blues going to the game tonight. If nothing else, do us proud and roar the ball in to the back of the net. I?ll be screaming at the TV!!

Who the fucking hell are Chelsea, a nobody of a team before The russians!!

We are Evertpn FC, a massive club full of history and medals and trophies and wonderful players, we want it more than them, both the players and the fans, we have to blast tem with a torrent of noise tonight and show them what a big club is!!!

His comments have made me so mad, because he is an arrogant little prick who knows jack shit about the English league, he should piss off back to the hutts!!!!

It does make your blood boil when you hear foreign mercenary managers such as Avram Grant (has the sort of face only a mother would love) say what he has
Chelsea basically have no history until such time as Abramovich came along and bankrolled the club, apart from a few cup wins they hadn?t won the league since the 50?s.
Everton are steeped in tradition and history winning everything we possibly could in the 80?s whilst Chelsea were yo yoing between Division 1 and 2.
Most of their fans are band wagon jumpers who would know very little about the club from the past.
We can go back to the turn of the 20th century and recite championships and cups with players like Dean and Lawton gracing the hallowed turf.
Now some mercenary Israeli says we cant even afford a cup of tea. I would make sure we don?t give him a cup tonight though as Sylvester Stallone found out maybe we should give him a cup because the Goodison tea tastes awful.
I was pleased to see Arsenal stuffed last night as the contempt for cup competitions now shown, makes me pleased as punch to see these 2nd string sides thrashed. If I wanted to go watch reserves I would go to the Halton Stadium and pay a fiver not 40-50 quid to watch a Semi Final.

An arrogant prick? Perhaps but he is not too far off the mark. We are seen as underdogs and a "small club" by the "Sky 4" and most of the media and we have not been troubling any trophies for over 12 years so I am not going too over the top about it.

In truth I don?t give a shit what non-Evertonians thing about our club and never will.

To be fair to Avram I think he was just saying were more hungry as we haven?t won anything for a while (which is true). I don't believe he meant any disrespect by it. He seems like quite a quiet humble guy to be honest.

He has a point, we’ve won bugger all for years! He may also be allusing to our current players rather than the club as a whole - has anyone in our team ever won anything at the top level? Obviously not since they’ve been together, but aside from Phil Neville and possibly Tim Howard when they were at Utd, none of our players have won anything as far as I can recall?

Let's not forget Chelsea?s trophy filled history...... er....... hang on...... oh that's right, they?re not even the biggest club in London never mind anything else. No class, no fans, no history and a manger who knows less about English football than the prick over the park.

To be fair - Avram has a point - and I’m glad to see Allan Hobbs has enough objectivity to see it too.... 1995 people that was the last time... don’t recall too many of our players there that day...

Also don’t forget he is Israeli - which when speaking in English are the bluntest nation under the sun - trust me on that. They always sound rude. I really think this is a storm in a teacup. He is right - it DOES mean more to us!

Fair enough Neal, but still, he has a point - we’ve won nothing for years. We’re not a successful club anymore, we used to be but not for a very long time so Avram Grant is speaking the truth whether we like it or not. Our squad is not used to winning things even though you point out a small number of players who may have won 1 trophy or been part of a winning squad. Chelsea’s players have far more experience of winning things than ours - as do their fans in recent times.
