Cahill's suspension

Comments (10)

I know that Cahill is suspended for the game Vs Tottenham for 5 yellows but according to the Beeb, EFC Official Site and the official League Cup site Cahill was NOT booked. (see below links) Can any light be shed on this as he was not booked against Wigan either.

Hey guys, lay off Zico Harper. He never let us down and the goal he scored at Villa Park in the cup semi final was something I will never forget. A goodison legend if there ever was one. Ahem!

I think Cahill and Hibbert both got there bookings in the wigan game. I think suspensions take a week to come into effect so both good play in the Chelsea game (ok Hibbert was on the bench). If we had had an fa cup game on sat they would have missed that game, as we didnt they are out tonight!

Cahill?s last booking was against Man Utd on Dec 23 , he has not been booked since, so wtf is going on? Has he been giving leave to go to Australia? This is bullshit, if you go through all the games on sporting-life.com he just hasn?t been booked

I think Cahill was actually booked against Chelsea. There was an incident in which he fouled a Chelsea player but the referee played advantage. The moved ended with Valente fouling someone and he was booked. The referee then went back and booked Cahill for the original offence. I think that is why he is out tonight. I assume some of the sites such as the BBC have missed it

I?m sure I remember TC being booked against Chelsea, I may be wrong, but if you check out the link on Jack?s original post to the official Carling Cup site, his booking is not on there and he was not booked against Wigan, Mikel and Hibbo were, I can only find 4 bookings for Tim this season, Luton , Portsmouth, Man City and Man Utd (away) , I?m sure someone will prove me wrong .. but ..?

He was booked for pulling back SWP in the Chelsea game, Valente was booked at the same time so possibly the people doing the records for the internet missed it.

I'm sure the player himself and the club would know how many times he has been booked so would kick up an almighty stink if he was suspended on 4 bookings especially since it leaves us close to shit creek numbers wise!

According to the Premier Leagues official site Tim is not suspended and is in the squad although it does say the final squad is not confirmed until 30 minutes before the game.
