Fernandes

Making the assumption that we are not going to do any more transfer business this window, and we've banked about £4-5m for Faddy, we have got to sign Manny in the Summer. If the deal was there with the bank for his transfer last year, then we have got to get this third party ownership query sorted second time of asking. For a young player he can pick out a fantastic pass and considering his lack of match practice his contribution is very good.

We are on the verge of (virtually) stealing Peinaar, and picked up Arteta at a fraction of what he's worth now. If it means breaking the transfer record for a third year running we need to do it. This is the type of player that will help us become a top four side, ousting our neighbours from their perch.

I agree about Fernandes, he looks class and once he gets to full fitness then I believe we have the midfielder we have been wanting for ages! His pass to set Johnson one-on-one was brilliant vision!

I would prefer that we shore up the signing of Peanut on a long term permanent deal, before we do anything with Fernandes. Good player he may be, but in my eyes he has to do a lot to convince me he is fit to wear that royal blue shirt, he has a lot of work ot do in that respect he buggered off once when someone flashed the cash who’s to say he won’t do it again??

Unfortuneately,Manny continues to be a tool of the company that owns him. They decide where he plays and when.Redknapp let him go ’because he was more trouble than he was worth’and he’s pulled some strokes in his time! We should only entertain a permanent deal providing he becomes 100% Everton owned.

Manny is owned outright by Valencia, So if we purchase him, we will own him outright.

Cant see Stubbs going, especially if we dont already have a replacement lined up, that would leave us with 2 senior centre backs at the club for saturday!

If Stubbs gets an 18 month contract I think he will insist on going as he will be binned at the end of the season and its another 12 months paypacket for more money than he would get coaching Everton Reserves.

Stubbs left once before and regretted it. He came back and said sorry for making a mistake. He is a millionnaire and has the chance to get a run in the Champions League next year, or at least play a key supporting part (on and off the pitch) in helping us get there. Then if he hangs his boots up, if he wants to, next season he gets the chance to build his stature and experience in coaching at our great Club. I’m confident he’s clever enough to see the bigger picture and will stay. You never know though, perhaps he prefers the possibility of playing Grimsby in the Championship rather than AC Milan at the San Siro!

i think that one pass for AJ’s chance last night shows exactly why we need him. If Moyes can do the same as he did with Mikky, and bargain the price donw to 8 or 9 million, it’s a snip.

Getting Pienaar for the reported £2m is already an amazing piece of business.

Are some of us looking at Manny and forgiving the awful passes he made last night to give the ball away four or five times in easy position because of ONE passs he made to AJ? I thought Manny has been just okay in the two matches. he was clearly done by the 80th last night, and was strolling the last 12-13 minutes of the match. I for one am not convinced he holds his place when everyone comes back.

If we only sign Manny & Pienaar come July, that will be enough for me. His class last night against a Spurs side growing with confidence proves he is worth every penny.

Give Manny a break, he has hardly played in the last 6 months, we know how good he is from the performances for us last year.

He has all the ability to be a great for Everton

Clyde... Manny isn’t fully fit yet... give him time.

Stubbs has gone was on the BBC website. Can’t help thinking that leaves us a bit short in central defence if just a couple of suspencions or injuries crop up at the wrong time.

Stubbs’ll have trouble playing Grimsby in the Championship next season are they’re currently in League 2! Seriously though, it’s a shame to see him leave as he’s been a wonderful servant to the club a la Weir. Still, time waits for no man...

Clyde

You honestly think Fernandes could not get in our midfield ? ha ha !

With the exception of Arteta , Fernandes is the best midfielder we have , and that is even when he has no match fitness..

Dom....I will wager any amount that when there are a full compliment of midfielders available for selection that Manny will be on the subs bench and not in the starting 11. I would like to know how a professional can be out of fitness at this part of the season. He has been training with us for nearly three weeks now, and he was WALKING towards his marker in the latter stages of that match. His level of commitment is NOWHERE near anyone elses on the pitch last niht for the Blues. Take the blinkers off and look at his work rate in his first two matches. He made one great pass but several really horrible passes. And one of them allowed a significant counter to develop for Spurs that if cashed in, would have cost us the game. Very lazy, and I am disappointed in his first two games.

BTW, if am a Spurs supporter, I would be all over Ramos for not trying to beat a weakened Everton last night. Could their ’keeper have takn any longer to set up his goal kicks?

Alex, I’ll get me coat! Stubbs is too slow to cut it now in reality so we’re probably best without his wage drain. He was not that great a servant to feck off to the mackems last time over his throwing toys from the pram over his failing to read the small print properly on a fair clause on the contract Everton had offered him. His Kirkby video propaganda was not very honourable either, or his role in Rooney going when he was on Stretford’s books! So probably a good deal for everyone if he is not committed to stay. Ta ra Stubber!

Clyde you strike me as the type of person who has never played football in your life. Anybody with any decent knowledge of the game knows there’s a difference between keeping fit in training and being MATCH FIT! Manny is a class act as he showed when he created the chance for Johnson. Yes he gave the ball away very cheaply at times but that’s because he’s not MATCH FIT! Apart from a few sloppy passes he brought a composure to our midfield and spread the ball around the pitch quite well. As for him being lazy, you mentioned he started walking to his marker towards the LATTER stages of the match, which means he got tired, yeah tired becuse he ran his bollocks off for the first 70 mins. You obviously don’t recognise a quality player when you see one. Manny is good enough for nearly any team in the league which is why Moyes is willing to pay 12 million for him, so to say he wouldn’t get into our team if we had everybody fit just shows how little you do know.

Fernandes was a mixed bag yesterday. You can see the potential the the quality he has but he is obviously not fit which doesn’t surprise me having only made 12 appearances this season for Valencia and most coming from the substitutes bench.

Obviously we need a more all round performance from him but I’m sure that will come. He’s only 21 and needs time to adjust back into the team and get his match sharpness up to a reasonable level.

I was surprised to see that he was our best and most consistent passer on Wednesday. I thought he gave it away to much but according to the Telegraph he made 41 passes which is more than most and completed 83 percent. He’s calmness and composure are a joy to watch and I have no doubt he will improve.

What people have got to understand that he has never played with our best eleven playing our best system. When we get the likes of Yakubu and Pienaar back with Cahill returning to his attacking midfield role we will be an exciting team to watch.

Gutted about Stubbs. I still think he had something to offer and he’s definatly a decent fourth choice centre half aswell as a leader on and off the pitch. Could be a big mistake by Moyes but saying that Jagielka and Lescott never get injured, hopefully we have someone ready to make the step up and Yobo will be back soon.

We’ve seen Manny play just two games in this spell. One way or another, we’re going to know a lot more about him when April / May comes around. Nothing’s going to happen before then, so why not wait and see how it goes.

Since we signed Manny on loan we have sold McFadden, released Stubbs and De Silva, sent Vidarsson and Kissock out on loan and done our best to get rid of Graveson and Boyle. Meanwhile we have saved a few bob by managing without an assitant manager.... Could it be that we had to decimate our squad to cover his wages? How much are we paying Manny? Is he worth it? Or is it just that Moyes with an assistant couldn't handle 30 players by himself at training and so decided to ditch half of them ?
