I want my money back

What gives with Shandy Van Der Vodka? Why, as a season ticket holder, am I contributing to this sponge of a man? What exactly is he doing to actually even earn a wage at our club?

I want DM to make some statement regarding the direction this player hopes to be taking. Will the player pull it together to wear our royal blue shirt,or will his contract be cancelled? Does this player have no shame? Does he care little about the perception he has?

Can the morons at the park end who clap him for warming up please stop it? He has done NOTHING at this club to earn any respect. He ought to be barracked by a loud and clear message:

Get your arse into gear-you are taking the piss out of us!! Sorry for the rant. It must be the Chang!!

He hasn’t been given the chance to play in the first team, so Moyes mustn’t like him so why keep him here if he’s not going to play him?!!

Is his contract up at the end of this season or at the end of next season? The only way I can see him leaving is due to his contract expiring because no club will want him after his spell at Everton. If he has yet another year to run on his contract that could mean that we will be short on money to fund wages for new signings in the summer? Lets hope he packs his bags and leaves ASAP!

Andy Van never ran out last night for us to clap him! it shows he never had an intention of coming on.

What an odd post - if he’s not picked then what can he do? He has a contract so he does what he’s told (sometimes) by the club. If he doesn’t get to play for the first team then thats David Moyes choice, not the players.

OK he’s had his problems, but from what I hear he’s not been in any strife for some time now and has been on the fringes of the 1st team for weeks - he got injured recently too so give the fella a break.

Ever heard of compassion?

Apparently we accepted a bid from Stoke for him, but he didn’t want to go.

I dont blame him.

I would say that the Everton fans were clapping him out of respect for what he has been through lately with his child who has been in hospital. That was totally out of his hands and can totally understand how hard it must be to concentrate on football when your child is very ill so please give him a little respect

I think Moyes should play him personally, he has had his troubles but before that he was a class player and im sure he can get back to that, he can give us something diferent like real pace out wide and the ability to whip a decent cross in!

Just seen this on the bbc live deadline day page, hope it isnt true!

1300: "I have just finished cutting Everton chairman Bill Kenwright’s grass and saw him in his conservatory talking with Shola Ameobi and some other guys."

Totally agree. The guy should be playing. We are berift of talented wingers at the moment and he would make a welcome addition. I fear that Moyes must really dislike the guy to have him out of the picture so often. Although VDM has had his issues, it is to the detriment of our squad that Moyes refuses to allow him the opportunity to restore his game.

I was disappointed he wasn’t fit for the AZ game. I have read quite a lot of posts on this site from lads who have went to reserve games who have not been impressed. Being from Ireland I don’t see reserve games and so was looking to see him for myself. He clearly isn’t in any shape to play. The fact that we are so thin in midfield and even Grav gets the nod on occassion says it all really. Still believe he is a quality footballer and would love him to get himself in order (although I appreciate the situation with his daughter is bound to have a huge impact on him)

VDM didnt warm up at all last night and I knew barring injury only Vaughan would play. Moyes has no faith in VDM or DaSilva and would of probably put Stubbs on first before them and shuffled the team round.
Our squad is wafer thin, McFadden money still in bank, Stubbs on the verge of joining Derby, 3 away in Africa, Cahill going to play for Oz. Lets at least bring someone in on loan today

There is NO WAY Newcastle will sell Ameobi - they have a tiny squad and need everyone they can get!

As Kenwright lives in a luxury central London apartment he hasnt got any grass to cut. Anyways who’s grass would grow at this time of the year. I havent cut mine since October and its no higher now than it was then.

Andy VDM is a class player and moyes must have it out for him. He gave fernandes a second chance after snubbing us the first time so why wont he give VDM a proper run out? Sometimes stubborness gets you nowhere mr. Moyes - give him a game or two for --ck’s sake!! just think of the crosses that will come flying in . . . could be like a new signing!

Top marks for the original post, but for some of the comments.....fuck off!!

Dont bring his sick daughter into proceedings, because he obviously doesnt when he’s living it up in Liverpool, Wirral, Manchester or basically anywhere that serves a decent drop!!

He’s shite, he’s been shite for some time, he’ll never be the player he was at Ajax so fuck him. Sitting there sponging off the club makes me sick, no wonder he’s not interested in a transfer. Who in thier right mind would pay the lazy fat twat the wages we do???

Plus the nightlife is shit in stoke, feel sorry for Da Silva who is apparently just plain old not good enough but cant go to barnsley cos they cant afford him!! He may get the odd sniff between now & end of season......hopefully avdm will not.

James - If you remember when we took 4th spot a few years back, Kenwright was shown on television in HIS BACK GARDEN opening a bottle of champers with his partner!! I do agree though that anyone that cuts their grass at this time of year is a bit of a loon but my neighbour has so perhaps there is a grain of truth in the Ameobi thing but hope not.

If we sign anyone before the deadline I will become a shite supporter!! [God spare me that!!] Davey is never been keen on splashing the cash in January so I don’t know why everyone gets excited speculating who we will buy.

Bill Kenwright is on Steve Wright in the Afternoon on radio 2 this afternoon so don’t expect he will be doing any transfer business there.

Beeb breaking news is reporting Stubbs has signed for Derby on loan... our squad is depleted as it is...seems a strange one if true?

I wish you were all joint managers of Everton rather than David Moyes.

24   Posted 31/01/2008 at 15:53:44

Im amazed at that, but surley we cant be going into the next couple of games with just 2 centre backs at the club, its not like we even got a nominal fee, we got NOWT!!

Are you comments in response to the Stubbs sale or what’s happening with Shandy?

Allan - Sod the joint managers thing... I wish they would all stop whinging!!

Playing Alan Stubbs when fit could have averted some poor centre back defending in the last two months, but Jacielka & Lescott seem to have settled into a partnership that thinks together. There’s always Neville in emergencies. Long may Stubbs play his heart out.

If you are cutting BK grass and then make reports to the press you are most likely going to be out of a job. I know that I would expect my gardener, housekeeper and other assorted servants to keep their mouths shut. Besides we better be signing a new centre back.
Paul Lenehan
29   Posted 31/01/2008 at 16:03:48

Allan and Patty, I don’t think its a case of whinging or looking to be joint managers. The point is we go to Blackburn needing a win with a a depleted squad already. Are you not concerned that we will have only 2 fit centre halves?
Andrew Fletcher
30   Posted 31/01/2008 at 16:58:47

We can always play Andy Johnson at Centre Back, Moyes must have faith in him winning headers cos its all we did last night.
Paul Maguire
31   Posted 31/01/2008 at 18:37:30

Not only have two players left permanently but three - Kissock, Jutkiewicz and Vidarsson are out on loan. I’m getting a little bit worried. If Andy VDM is fit give the guy a run - you never know he may surprise us! Could have brought him on against Spurs - taken Baines/Valente off brought Arteta over to the left and AVDM on the right - may have given us a few more options.

re: john Lloyd

How can you say VDM is shite? and sponging off the club? What other choice does he have besides sitting on his ass if he is not selected week in and week out? There are many players who are on the piss but don’t make headlines. We have paid big money to fat twats before (beattie). Who is a better solution out wide in your opinion? Name one player (save arteta) who is better technically on the ball? By the way, VDM was a good player at Inter as well.

Agree with original post Shandy waste of time why do fans clap him & say give him a chance he’s a waste of time!!! while were here why do fans love Tommy Gravesen another overrated prick had 4 good months before his move to Madrid what did he do the previous 3 years? Yet fans love him

Shandy reminds me of that TV movie "The Lost Prince." It was about the retarded son of the King and Queen during world war 1 who was somewhat of an embarrasment to them so they packed him off to an isolated house in the country and seldom mentioned him. When he was seen in public other people were either awkward or sympathetic around him until eventually he died.

Before ADVM we had this guy ...

Trawling through the internet I stumbled across the personal website of this ADVM proto-type ....
