Injured Pienaar heading home
Comments (20)
South Africa is out of AFCoN, which means our injured Pienaar is heading home, where he should have stayed in the first place. The little guy has a knock; did play against Senegal, but should be fine by the time he gets home. South Africa had a bad AFCON, but they can be greatful for our Everton player producing the goods in the middle of their midfield.
Pienaar really showed again that he is one hell of a midfielder in the middle. Should Moyes give him a shot in our midfield? This little magician should be snapped up before bigge clubs start knocking. I know his tide to a loan contact, but these days that means jack!
Can't wait to see Osman Pienaar Manny Arteta in midfield!

With those four in midfield Ricardo, they can just switch it about all game and the opposition wont know what day it is! Cant wait to have all our players back! COYB!!

Great to have him on his own way back. Just heard on Sky that Everton expected to announce a couple of loan signings tonight - anyone heard any rumours....?

I have Sky Sports News on and they were talking about the Redshite signing Mascherano on a permanent deal then the guy said "let’s not forget Everton who we believe are putting together the final touches on a couple of loan deals".
Appreciate what happened last year Charlie, but this Andy guy on Sky seems to be on the case!

According to Moyes and the local press though it said there would be no more activity so I dont know who to believe..I bet even if we are in talks with players nothing will happen before midnight..Who could it be on-loan?

To be fair Charlie last January I think we almost landed Andy Cole on-loan as Portsmouth were willing to let him go but Cole decided to stay there and fight for his place. We cant really blame Sky for that one..Im with you though,I dont think anything will happen tonight.

If we do get anyone, it will be a couple of benchwarmers, who wont get anywhere near the pitch unless the team gets hit with a flu bug or we come up against a card happy ref. I’d love to be wrong but just cant see it being anything else at this stage.

Apparantly the rumour is that we are trying to get Sidwell and Anthony Gardener!!!! on loan.
Probably bollocks but who knows, it certainly won’t be on the official website until after 10:00am tomorrow

Don’t fancy either of those joining but IMWT. I just want the AFCON players back!
Have to admit am starting to doubt SSN now with the statement "couple of loans in or out".

Hope ya right lads, but I have such a distrust of sky I cant help but feel its an attempt by them to keep us all watching till the midnight... an it works! Another thing, what about our 2 day medicals... even for loan signings?

Can’t registrations be officially submitted pending medicals?

Great to have him back. Pienaar is an important cog in our very effective 4-5-1 formation. His energy, short passing and intelligence in the final third are vital on the left hand side.
I don’t think we should play him in the middle as he is one of our better wide players and Fernandes is more effective and better in the middle of the park. Pienaar is a central player but I see him as more of an attacking midfielder behind the front one or two. Similar to Osman in that respect.
Good news anyway. Hopefully he’ll atleast be on the bench against Blackburn.
Ricardo just asking how did you become an Evertonian? I think its great to see that we have support in South Africa aswell as Africa in general. Probably the best thing about Toffeeweb is you get Evertonians from all over the place.

Dont think we should use Pienaar against Blackburn unless we absolutley have to but it will be good to see him back!

I bet the only deal ends up being something like da silva to Barnsley on a permanent deal!

Breaking Reuters news quotes Pienaar as saying he will be out for "two to three weeks" with an ankle injury. Woe!!

Conner, I became an Evertonian in 93, round about the time when Man U blasted into the lime light! My father was a Everton supporter and he even named his local side Everton FC. I played for this team since my early childhood. I liked Manure, but rather decided to support EFC. (maybe it’s becuase i like blue or it could be cause of all the Everton followers in Cpt) Unfortunately some of the old EFC fans died and can’t witness the current squad that we’ve got! I was over the moon when Moyes took Pienaar on loan, cause I’ve always supported him since he’s Ajax Cape Town days. Locally i support Ajax CPT. I like Everton and Ajax Cape Town to play in in friendly match one day. Can’t wait for the day Everton comes to town. Why is it that Man U loves SA, and Everton don’t even consider taken the side to Africa? Everton has by far a bigger following that Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool in South Africa.

hi mark, gary also from Cape Town i tend to agree its about time Moysee gets over America and trips down to RSA off season.Spurs,Manure, R/S have all been this way recently and nice cheap destination for toffee supporters.Pienaar out for2/3 weeks minimum. What do you think of Bryce Moon in an Everton shirt as this boy is going to be class at less than a million pounds.MUST DO FOR THE BLUES.

Gary, I think Bryce Moon is a revelation in terms of SA defenders. He’s by far the best attacking defender I’ve seen in AFCON. I think he’s gonna be bigger that the like of Mokoena, Morris or even Fish. Good talent! I bet you he’ll be snapped up by a European team in the next few weeks. a Everton player? I don’t know, but I do think he can be a great addition to our current squad
