Everton Kit

Comments (32)

Been meaning to mention this for a while now, but what is gong on with this supposed partnership with JJB and Everton merchandise?

Two years ago JJB stores had whole areas took up by Everton kits, jackets, toddlers kits etc, now there is hardly anything in any of the stores near me (Chester and nearby) in fact there are more Lverpool kits at JJB at Cheshire Oaks!!

I know i can get stuff at the club shop but i don't want tpo be lugging it around the match with me and the pubs! Who is to blame? JJB?? EFC??

They also told me there will be a new kit in the summer, we seem to be having one every year now, which some people just cannot afford.

Any theories, answers???

Supply and Demand?

Perhaps Everton fans, being somewhat discerning, aren't into the replica shirt thing to the extent expected???

After all, what is it we call them barcode fans?

Bottom line is that the more replica kits that are sold, the more money goes into the club?s coffers. So what?s wrong with 40000 Evertonians buying a new shirt every year? Being discerning doesn?t help the club, money does. End of story.

Have Umbro been bought out by Nike? Might have something to do with it ?

Exactly the same in Manchester mate. I’ve been into both JJB’s in Market st and neither one has any EFC merchandise. Now I somewhat understand if this was purely because the stores were Manchester based and only stocked Utd & City merchandise, but both stores were wall to wall with not only the above emntioned but also Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle??, Liverpool, Celtic & Rangers. Who ever it is that works in Everton’s merchandising dept would do well to give their pals at JJB a bell and have them live up to their part of the agreement.

The reason you cant buy an everton shirt anywhere but Barnie Shildhouse is most fans buys shirts in the summer when it comes out. Only tourists & dickheads are buying them now - still doesnt excuse Fat Keith's fuckup (or should that be backhander?)!

I travel the country for work and checked out numerous JJBs - Nottingham, Birmingham, Leeds amongst them - during the autumn and in the run up to Christmas. Not an Everton shirt to be found, but plenty of other clubs well represented. This is a huge missed opportunity by the club, but one that won’t surprise many of you.

The commercial operation is a joke and no one seems to be managing any of these outsourcing deals. Still, I’m sure the new stadium will be ’world class’ because Fat Keith said so.

Exactly the same up here in Newcastle, not an Everton shirt to be seen in any JJB store in the area. And the staff just look at you funny when you mention a partnership between the club and the Stores. They stock all the usual Big 3, Liverpool and of course the local crap but not a single bit of Everton merchandise.

There is a JJB right next to the Reebok stadium at the start of the partnership there was half a wall with everton merchandise, kits, balls, shinpads, everything really. But as the partnership went on the wall got smaller and has now ended up being a tatty rack amongst £3 Kappa trackies. The reason? It could be that each season EFC have paid less money to JJB therefore recieving less of a service. Maybe "Blue(?) Bill" and Wyness had more important things to spend the money on? Another reason could be that the stores would make more money with the commercial 4’s shirts on the wall. After all thats the aim of a business to make money. If JJB is a franchise which im not sure but presume it is, managers in Nottingham and Leeds will surely be making the range smaller. A very good point anyway and something that certainly needs addressing by the club.

The only person benefitting from outsourcing at Everton is that snake Fred Elliot Wyness how anyone trusts the thieving (pays himself bonuses whilst off sick), lying (world class, etc, etc, etc) bastard (his affectionate name in Scotland) I dont know.

I’ve emailed EFC on a few occasions, namely when they proudly announce the new merchandise and distribution deals with JJB, to complain about not being able to buy anything down here in Essex.

There are four huge JJB stores, two where Iive in Colchester, and two just a few miles away in Ipswich. If you go into any of them they are full of Man U, RS, and Newcastle as far as northern teams go but no Everton shirts anywhere! I asked the Managers about getting a supply in and whether they would be getting in away shirst and third change shirts and the answer was a flat no.

Although I get all of my shirts either online or when I attend home games I thought it prudent to email EFC and point out that the ’fantastic deal’ they have with JJB is exactly the opposite.......no surprise that i’ve never had a reply to any of them not even an acknowledgment that they would look into it.

I guess if all of you who are a lot closer to Liverpool struggle then I’ve no chance!!

I think everyone should ignore JJB for the waste of space that they are and deal directly with the megastore, at least that way there is no percentage of sales going to JJB.

Same here Martyn, when I buy any EFC merchandise I always use the Megastore website, fook JJB and their shite marketing.

The one in the town centre, which is next door to the Liverpool store still seems to favour the redshite products....WTF?

Nothing doing down here in the midlands to be honest. Home kit hit JJb’s in Wolverhampton for a month, but not the 2nd or the 3rd kit. The 3rd kit is quite smart and me and my mate want it. Can we get it? No. However, even in Liverpool the situation is shit - check out the JJB next to the Liverpool clubshop (or "twatstore as I renamed it) and there is still an equal amount of Liverpool gear, if not more, in there! Which is astonisihing considering that the twatstore is next door! Plenty of Man U and Chelsea gear in there too. Shit, even Man City too!

Guess we have to buy it off the web or the throught the club shop at games...

Er, I’m not quite sure what people’s problem is. The deal with JJB would primarily be to serve the Merseyside area with regard to merchandise. Why would they be trying to flog Everton gear elsewhere in the country? If Everton were still in charge of the operation, we wouldn’t be opening outlets in Manchester or Essex now, would we?

At the end of the day, demand drives stock - nobody wants the Everton gear because there’s sod all Everton fans in Newcastle. If our success continues, maybe that will change and retail outlets will start stocking our stuff, irrespective of deals done with retail partners.

the lie that was outsourcing was along the lines of a nationwide enabling partner in JJB as one of the biggest sports wear shops which would allow fans all over the country to be able to purchase the kits. If you care to check the majority of the threads here you will find fans and supporters all over the country and world, the poor sods not able to get to the megastore living in Australia and further afield are left with a fucking disgrace of a deal hammered out by a pocket filling charlatan where buying online is directed to this useless partnership, if they cant get the stock sorted in local bloody shops then what chance do they have of filling global orders? Equally as nonsensical is the geographic; just how many skunks live in Wigan itself when the store there where the whole empire began has more every other team kits including bloody obscure european ones than Everton kits?????

As anyone been in the JJB shop in Liverpool Centre. All the Everton stuff is in the back of the store and you ahve to walk past shirts for Liverppol, Manchester, Chelses, Arsenal and England. I went in at Christmas to buy Everton Water bottles for my grand sons - had none. Wanted socks for 10 years old - none

The club use to have a shop near Central rail station but closed it when it did the deal with JJB - why is was good and had waht you wanted.
Imagine United having this deal and experiencing the same problems - its Chief Executive would have been shoen the door by now. The JJB in Southport is not any better.

But hey this is Everton. Can we try and get the club to comment.

Despite all this me and my boys ( travel from Leeds and Hull) are there every week because its in our blood. COYB

Here in Crewe we have a couple of racks of shirts and the occasional mug or teddy.

Thats an improvement on the 2 shirts that Bath JJB carried when I lived down there.

It is true though irrispective of what anyone says about supply and demand that JJB promised (according to the OS) a whole stand of EFC merch in EVERY store.

Surely if that is true they are breaking their contract with the blues, can we not do anything to get some compo etc from them for breach of contract?

Up here in Scotland i tried to buy home and away tops for myself and two kids. This was near the start of the season. I was told in stores in Perth, Dundee and Edinburgh that they had had the home tops but had to send them down to England because Umbro hadn’t made enough for the demand. I ended getting all the tops at the megastore when we were down at one of the games.

What other business besides something as passionate as supporting a football team would put up with this, those pair of clowns BK and KW wouldn’t last two minutes in the real world - and before the come back on BK he’s nothing more than a jumped up ticket tout for ponces going to the theatre not exactly cut and thrust and KW has a dubious history of employment especially whilst in Australia.

Now at least I found an Everton shirt in JJB Norwich, which is my nearest store. Admittedly it was mixed in with the Chelsea shirts, it was lucky that I spotted the stripy bit on the side.

I am surprised at some of the comments on here. Over the summer I visited the big JJB in Chester and their EFC display was fantastic, took up almost a quarrter of the store. England shirts where the second biggest with the RS having about 2 racks.

We have just come out of JJB in Bournemouth where my two daughters have just bought Everton away shirts(Arteta on the back)
Before they left they placed an Everton shirt on the front of every rack of other shirts making the whole section look like the EFC Club store! Very funny but I suppose you had to be there

JJB Kit Update: Sorry to post on this subject again, but i recently went in to JJB to confront them about the fact that there are hardly any Everton kits (both adult and baby/kids) in their stores. I finally got an answer as to why this is happening (considering they are the only shop outside the megastore to stock them). The Manager there told me that becasue we are bringing a new kit out in the summer, they basically have decided to sell limited stock and that is just the way it is!?

I then asked why the Everton kit was out numbered by RS (I actually did use that phrase) and Manure kits both in adult and kids sizes. He told me that there is more demand for them!???? What the hell is going on?

I thought they were meant to be marketing our club with the partnership they have with us??
