So Davie has made a statement about Everton rejoining the pinnacle of the English game and that major investment is needed. Will Robert Earl continue to underwrite overdraft cheques from Barclay's? This season is getting better and better and is made sweeter with what's happening to Liverpool.

You have to hand it to the Evberton Board of Directors ? they have so far managed to come up with some funds. Are we on the verge of great things? Will Everton once more dominate English Football? The excitement is too much, it's enough to make your heart go.....

Come on Everton the last third of the season is beckoning. Champions league qualification is at stake with every game played.

Looks like Moysie wants the board to open up their purse strings and get us spending big. It'll be interesting to see what happens this summer because whether we're in the Champions League or Uefa Cup, it's important that we start buying big. It's the only way we'll progress.

Just read this in The Mirror's football cartoons:

"Rafa, do you really think you're up to managing one of the big four?"

"Why, have Evertin called!?"

Just thought it was interesting that a paper actually seems to acknowledge that we're currently in fourth place. All the talk of the big four is incredibly annoying when there are 3 clubs above one of this apparently elite group. Of course this will mean nothing if we don't finish there, so for the good of football I hope that at least one club besides Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool qualify for the Champions League. Otherwise I'm afraid that football might really be fucked after all.

From our friends at BBC Sport:

"The top four are all in action today - and Liverpool are playing as well - so it should be a top, top day of action with eight fixtures across three different kick-off times. What more could you possibly ask for?"

That's what we like to hear. Tough game today guys, here's hoping Sunderland can nick us a favour.

A third of the season to go and still everything to play for. Despite what other supporters feel, I stand by Moyes and his team selections even if others beg to differ. If anybody had offered me fourth place, a Uefa Cup last sixteen berth and giving one of the best teams in Europe a run for their money over two games, I would have bitten their hand off.

The only blemish is the Oldham game, every year there is an upset in the third round, and as like before at Shrewsbury, Everton got the headlines for all the wrong reasons. I really felt we could have done well in the FA Cup this year, maybe not have won it but gone the furthest distance since the 1995 success.

Has any one else noticed that Sky are now referring to the TOP THREE, not the BIG FOUR! Or am I just a bit paranoid?

Yup I’ve noticed, but on an article they kept referring to LAST SEASONS top 4 when they talk bout Arse, Manure, Moneybags and RS together, so hopefully we’ll be acknowledged as top 4 next season, fingers crossed and praying to 5 religions.

At the risk of letting paranoia overtake me completely ? what has Kenwright offered to Earl in return for underwriting the loans?

I just hope we are not in for a rude awakening sometime in the future, when the chips are cashed in.

Hand it to the Everton board, do me a favour. Moyes has got Everton where we are (love or hate his tacticts) in spite of the board.
