Who owns it?

The "it" in question is the EPL.

Can anybody tell me who are the shareholders and stakeholders. The reason I ask is that the sole reason of it's existence is to "make" ever increasing amounts of money. For who's benefit is this meant to be? With the exception of a couple of clubs most EPL clubs are burdened by all this additional cash. This is not a windfall bottom line bonus, it's a cause of massive inflation to a club's expenditure and we all know what happens when that spirals out of control.

Somebody somewhere must be banking huge amounts of money from the EPL but I don't believe it is the clubs as that money is there just to service the debts?

Can anybody shed some light please?

It’s not a company, as far as i’m aware, but an association of clubs. I don’t think there are any shareholders as such, and the clubs are the ones making the dosh mate. And if theycant manage their finances correctly, then they only have themselves to blame. I wouldn’t mind being ’burdened’ wih a few £million.

As far as I’m aware as Lee said it’s owned by the clubs in the prem and when relegated they have to give their share to the promoted teams.
I think Sheff Utd. caused a stink last year when they refused to give their share back because of the legal battle with West Ham over Tevez.

Just this once Blue Bill may have it right, all the money eventually ends up in the players carpark
